Product Description

Thrust ball bearings

  • A thrust bearing is a particular type of rotary bearing. Like other bearings they permanently rotate between parts, but they are designed to support a predominantly axial load, they give very good carrying capacity.
  • The separable components of thrust ball bearings are interchangeable. This facilitates mounting and dismounting and maintenance inspections.
  • Thrust Ball Bearings have consisted of a shaft washer, a housing washer, and a ball and cage assembly.
  • They are designed to accommodate axial loads and locate a shaft axially, in one direction only, and must not be subjected to any radial load.
  • Chromium Steel (GCr15) Shaft and Housing Washer provide high and uniform hardness and good wear resistance.

Replacing cheaper set of races did not expect much for the price But was surprised by the product. Although they were not pre-Lubricated as much as high end products .But then what's the cost of some good quality Lube. But been use for a month works great. Thank you.

The material doesn't seem very stainless. The picture shows the bearing set after a few months installed on a grill. Note the stainless bolts procured seperately and installed at the same time. The bearings started to rust within a few weeks. Since they were cheap expected them to be a lower grade stainless such as 305ss but they rusted up so fast and completely that I expect they were not stainless.

Great price Excellent quality Smooth action.!I purchased this 1/2 thrust bearing to eliminate metal to metal contact on a bearing puller.Purchased other size thrust bearings installed on other pullers and milling vice.Thrust bearings should be added as a standard.Provides incredibly smooth, efficient pulling power with little effort.!

It’s a 51101 bearing. Seems to fit fine on the tail stock of my lathe.

Bearings came well packaged. There was a small amount of oil on them to avoid rusting. This was easy to remove and replace with my own choice of lubricant. Using digital measurement callipers my measurements came to 20.09mm id x 34.97mm od x 9.95mm thickness. Their roundness is very good with no variation measured with 1µm accuracy callipers. Be aware these are listed as ABEC-3 however in the description they are listed as ABEC-1, after my measurements they do seem to fit into ABEC-3 tolerances but something to keep in mind. I have no way of testing their load capacity short of driving ontop of them with my car and seeing if it still spins, which I will not be doing. For my application these are perfectly acceptable bearings and should last the lifetime of my turntable.

10x24x9mm Fits well on top of a Nema 17 stepper and has enough grip left for the Z leadscrew coupler. Do not lock the thrust bearing on it's X and Y axis as it will need some offset space to settle after a load gets applied to it. I printed a small spacer to go under the leadscrew coupler for better contact. Used Super Lube PTFE grease and everything runs very smooth.
