Trowels come in many different shapes and materials – while I’ve collected and used many with varying degrees of success in different soils, this is the one I’d choose if one were all I could have. Never knew I even needed a new trowel until I watched Monty Don, Adam Frost, and other presenters on Gardeners’ World effortlessly sink their heart-shaped trowels in the earth and dig out or set in plants in one stroke. Went hunting for a similar tool and found this one. Sharp, sturdy, effective – a keeper.

I was looking for a flat head garden trowel after watching a British gardening show. This one is well made , DeWitt is know for excellent garden tools. Head is a bit smaller than I wanted, but overall did an excellent job when I gave it a try in cold winter soil.

This Potting Trowel is very sturdy, comfortable to use and attractive to look at. It is also great for general planting - as shown by Monty Don and Adam Frost on BBC Gardeners World. I love my Dewit my other narrow planting trowel for putting in bulbs and plugs. This one can loosen and dig twice as much soil at once, making planting larger plants much faster. It also makes scraping furrows and rows in a the veg patch a breeze.

You will reach for this tool time and time again. It is sturdy, well made and my husband loves it too and borrows it often. I highly recommend.

I have wanted a Dutch Potting Trowel for years and now I have one. It is slightly smaller than I expected but appears well made and has some heft to it. Can wait to wield it in my garden whilst planting bulbs and perennials. I am pleased with my purchase
