Tiffen Black Pro-Mist. It is easy to see why the Black Pro-Mists have been such a success for over the past 30 or so years. Its unique layering of contrast combined with a gauzy paint like halation, function as a twist on the stand of the pro halation spill effect. Even at its lowest density, it delivers an effective and increase in the halation which adds a pleasing depth of warmth, but is not transported to the skin tone values. These characteristics will become more apparent when you use densities of 1 quarter and above. In the heavier densities the spill is quite aggressive from the practical light, with the warm tone becoming more apparent. Yet the subtle but effective look still continues to make the pro mist filter a staple filter for many cinematographers in the digital world.

Purchased this for a new anamorphic lens and it's a fantastic buy. Absolutely no color shift, and blooms the highlights subtly. I would suggest the 1/8 strength unless you are going for a full on dreamy look. Tiffen has always made quality filters. This Black Pro Mist is no different. I highly recommend it.

It’s a 1/8 so it’s not some wonder drug. For those that need a small mist to their pics.

I was thinking that I needed something different towards my style or vibe. And this mist filter has done the trick! I love this thing and I hardly take this off my lens. This is great for video, gives off that glarey effect which is neat. But with photos, may have to rethink that because it would take off the digital sharpness. But i love this filter. Gives you more options for your creative needs.
