Easy Installation!
1. Remove the original latch and slide the new latch into the slot.
2. If the latch is too long and passes through the edge of the window, the cutout on most windows has a square or rounded end on the inside.
3. Use pliers or small wire cutters to cut it off so the latch assembly still slides easily and is flush with the edge of the window.

Even with modification they do not work. Not sure what the issue is. But do not recommend these! Now I cant even return them. Waste of money

I have PGT windows. The latch slides into the slot and fits perfectly, however, once in, the spring loaded clip will not retract at all. As others have indicated, I did have to use a Dremel to shave down the excess width of the clip, not the actual housing of the latch. Once I was able to retract the spring loaded clip to get the window set, then the other end of the clip would not fit into the track on the window frame; more Dremel work. In the end, I was able to get them working with my window although I now question how long they will survive since I had to shave so much from the retractable clip for it to work; certain any integrity is compromised.

Product worked but I did not receive 4 of each. I received 5 of one side and 3 of the other.I was only able to fix 3 windows instead of 4. Not worth messing with sending back but disappointed in quality control.

insure u know what the thickness is of the latch u need. most latches are about the same length and width, thickness is critical. the thin ones appear able to be used where a thick one will, but not other way around!

I like the product. Earlier I purchased a pair but they were too large because I guessed at the size. This time I purchased the correct ones and they fit beautifully. Unfortunately the window frame is warped and it cannot be locked because of the warp. Otherwise I would most certainly recommend these latches.
