  • TimMee Plastic Toy Soldiers
  • Color: 48 OD Green Figures
  • Size: Up to 2.1 inches tall
  • Scale: Approximately 1:35
  • Packaging: Polybag with Insert Card

An American Classic for generations - this pack of 48 Tim Mee Plastic Army Men is proudly manufactured in the United States, and includes 48 olive drab green troops for maximum play value. There's about 12 different figures and all your old favorites are here, including minesweeper, bazookaman, radio operator, 60mm mortar, LMG operator, kneeling rifleman, flame thrower, crawling rifleman, prone rifleman, bayonet fighter, and officer with binoculars. Figures stand up to 2.1 inches tall and are approximately 1:35 scale. Made from slightly flexible LDPE plastic with medium detail, and very little flashing.

Originally produced by Processed Plastic (Tim Mee's parent company) around 1968, these figures were probably the first to depict US infantry troops of the Cold War era with contemporary equipment.

These are real plastic heroes, meant to be set up, knocked down, picked up and played with for years to come. Little Green Army Men have even been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. Packed in plastic bag with insert card and recommended for ages 5 and up.

I have several colors. The OD Green is a darker green - it looks like what I remember from when I was a kid. The quality of these pieces is pretty good. You can see a lot of detail - and they stand without easily falling over. With all the colors available, you can easily determine which figures belong to which kid. This avoids issues of ownership between siblings or friends and allows you to have multiple players at the same time and easily distinguish which pieces belong to which army. There is a good mix of differently posed figures to allow your kids imagination run wild. If your sensitive to kids playing with toy guns or simulated war scenarios - that would be the only reason to avoid these or any other toy army men. Oh - that reminds me - there are no apparent female figures in these lots. One way to play is to have kids set up an army on either side of a good playing surface and give each kid some marbles. Either alternate turns or just yell “GO!” and let them roll or shoot the marbles at their opponents. When all your men are knocked over - your out. Last army with a man standing wins. Kids can actually strategize a lot in setting up their figures to create blockades and other strategic arrangements.

Thick plastic, many different types of men to play with, expected size, all were intact and haven’t broken so far.

During my childhood from the late 70's, I remember these toy soldiers whenever I was playing with my friends or relatives. It was great having them again, though they are now smaller (a little over 2 inches) compared to the previous version which were taller. There are 12 poses for the figures. My only minor disappointment is the pack contained only 46 pieces instead of the 48 indicated in the pack. Overall, a great buy, since it brings back pleasant memories.

Remember, these Army Men are not just any dollar store cheapos that lack detail and break easily. These are the Army Men that kids have been playing with since the 60's, and now they are back for sale for today's generation and (hopefully) more to come.$12-13 sounds pricey for just 48 figures, but these little guys blow the competition out of the water. Most other, cheaper army men sets have soldiers that appear blobby and disproportionate with deformed weapons and broken parts, but these guys are carefully crafted and heavily detailed down to each finger being clearly visible on first view. The plastic is durable and softer than previous iterations of this set, allowing for rough play. There also seems to be a good distribution of poses, though that may be just my bag.If you're looking for a gift for the kids, wargaming figures, or are a collector like me, these men are a must buy if you don't have any yet. The best part is Tim Mee now sells these figures in colors that were previously VERY rare or non-existent!

My son loved these plastic army men. The variety of colors made it fun for him to play with. They've been holding up well.
