I had two questions about this charger when considering whether I should buy it-- 1) will it fit the port on the Vixia HF R800 camcorder, and 2) will it actually charge the battery. As for point 1, yes-- the cable fits snugly into the port of the Vixia HF R800. It's not loose and doesn't fall out like some other reviews said.As for point 2, there's a line under the product description that says it will "provide constant power to your camera, but it will not charge batteries." Thankfully this isn't the case-- it DOES charge the battery (when the camera is off). If your battery is dead or missing, you can also use this as a power cable to run the camera via a wall outlet (the cable cord is thankfully pretty long). So, overall, does what it needs to do and I'm happy with my purchase :)

I lost my video camera charging cord and needed to get a replacement to be able to use my video camera and this replacement cord works as good as the original cord that came with the camera

Some trepidation buying a third-party adapter. But this one fits properly and works. And for a great price. That's all I can ask for.

I often misplace the charging cord for my Canon Vixia camcorder. As expected, I misplaced the original charger for my camcorder and ordered this one since it was a reasonable price for a replacement charger. Fits perfectly and it charged my camcorder quickly! I now use it as a backup since I was able to find the original cable charger.
