These bolts are awesome. The plastic guides are easy to use and snap off handily. With everything screwed into the metal it's very sturdy.

I had heard about these through “This Old House.” I needed to put some up some shelves in a room where the studs aren’t readily available, so I thought I would give these a try. And they work pretty well. They require a 1/2” hole, which is a bit large and leaves a lot of drywall dust on the floor. Once you’ve drilled the hole, the deal is to slide the plastic legs until the metal piece is perpendicular to the wall, slide the metal piece through the wall and (this is important) pull back on the plastic legs until the metal piece is flush against the back side of the wall. If you don’t get this right, the metal piece won’t be in place to accept the bolt. Then you slide the plastic collar down the legs until it is flush with the front of the wall. Once you’ve slid the plastic collar into place, be careful breaking off the plastic legs. They will have a sharp edge and can nick the wall if you’re not careful. I wasn’t, and now have a couple spots I need to touch up.All of that said, these anchors are rock solid and worth the money and learning curve. I don’t like to use anchors, but they’re a necessary evil at times. And these are probably the best I’ve used.

It took three tries to get one to lock into place correctly- apparently there was insulation behind the drywall that prevented the toggle from lying flat against the wall. Not the toggle’s fault, just something to be aware of.

I bought a shower curtain rod. It came with anchors, but they failed within a day. The rod hung downwards and it created big holes in my wall. I needed to buy better anchors. I decided to buy these because they hold a lot of weight and seem like they would work really well. I'm super impressed with them. My curtain rod is now super solid. I did have to buy new screws because the rounded top didn't work for me, so I bought a flat headed one. I also wasted one of the anchors because when I put the screw in, I guess it went in at an angle and the whole anchor turned around and broke off the plastic bit. It was hard getting it off, and when I did, the anchor just fell to the ground in the wall. I made sure to wiggle the rest of the screws in and turn by hand to make sure it was in properly. The whole process of installing the anchors was easy. And I now have a solid sturdy curtain rod

TLDR: Game-changer for mounting TVs on metal studs, strong and reusable. 📺🔩💪Just when I thought I'd hit a wall (pun intended) with mounting my TV in my new room with metal studs, I stumbled upon these toggle bolts. And let me tell you, they're like the superheroes of the hardware world! These bolts are a marvel of design. Don't be fooled by the plastic tabs – they're not just for show. They play a crucial role in guiding and holding the toggle in place when the bolt takes a vacation. It's the reusable magic that sets these apart from the typical one-hit-wonder toggle bolts, which love to disappear behind the wall never to be seen again. And when it comes to strength? These bolts could give bodybuilders a run for their money. I've been swiveling my TV on its articulating mount like it's a dance partner, and not once have I doubted their hold.Of course, I had a bit of a 'whoops' moment during installation – drilled the hole too fast and ended up with some stubborn burrs on the metal stud. But a quick encore with the drill, and voila, smooth sailing. Setting the toggle is as easy as a wiggle and a pull, and then you just snap off the excess plastic guide strap with a satisfying click. These little geniuses are proof that sometimes, the best solutions are brilliantly simple. If you're facing a metal stud conundrum, these are your go-to. Two thumbs up, would recommend!

I ordered some of these to reattach a porch railing after some rot repair. I only chose them because I saw that the railing had been attached using these earlier. They worked well and the railing is very secure now. I really like the zip tie concept they use to hold the nut in place during installation. My only minor complaint is that the plastic sleeves from the original job didn't hold up forever and I couldn't just reuse the old (15-20 years???) fasteners.

These appear to be returned, repackaged in a thin plastic bag with no instructions, and sold as new. Product works fine, disappointing I paid new prices for used merchandise.

Pro’s incredibly easy to install. Once in pkace nylon steps pop off with ease (using your fingers). I used these after a different, screw in anchor failed). Wished I’d use these first!Con’s - you do have to drill a half inch hole for each bracket (no big deal for most things).
