This was a nice, simple project, great for a lazy Sunday afternoon. The wood color scheme is very ‘Van Gogh’, fun and bright and chaotic. I like the mirror in the back, as it gives some depth to the nook and creates a longer alleyway. Most everything needed to be glued, some of the snap pieces were extremely tight, and I did utilize my own craft file to do some additional sanding to make sure I didn’t break my assembled furniture pieces when putting them in the panel floor/wall. I like ‘snug’ pieces , but I don’t want to break them! My kit came with a very cute glue stick, which was a nice touch, but I didn’t feel confident that it would hold the pieces together, and I have my own glue preferences (I like Aleene’s mixed media adhesive for most everything, it does smell funny, but I suppose you get used to that after a while!)The lighting was simple to install, and I like that this kit came with a tiny screwdriver and a wood ‘wrench’. The sensor light is VERY sensitive, and I think it picks up movement from more than 6 ft away, but turns off after about a minute, and if you don’t want it coming on all the time, just turn the switch to off. This was probably the simplest (and skinniest) nook I’ve done, it’s an open model, which I knew when I bought it (I usually prefer nooks that have dust covers and tops) a little higher price point for the simplicity of this product, but it’s Van Gogh, so it’s the art you are paying for. I think this is an appropriate beginner project, just be careful with the tight fitting pieces and which pieces go in which direction before putting them together and glueing them!

Been a big fan of DIY book nooks and this one was one of the best ones I’ve done.The quality is pretty great… mostly wood and not just paper that you have to paste onto things.It’s not the easiest to put together but it gives you a bit of challenge. The lighting could be brighter but it gives a decent glow and definitely enhances its look.

I received this as a birthday gift and enjoyed putting it together. It sits in my living room bookshelf and brings me joy!

I saw this in a book store in NY for double the price. I ordered from Amazon for 1/2 the price. My daughter 27 loved it. Great quality, easily assembled and looks awesome on her bookshelf.

This 3-D puzzle book nook Kit (Tone-cheer’s “The Steam Ageâ€) is extremely cleverly designed, and all its parts are of very high quality, including its LED lighting and sensor system. ! A pleasure to construct and live with. I initially gave the kit a very poor rating, because although the kit’s lighting had worked fine for the first 4-5 days, it then began to dim shortly after the sensor triggered it on, and finally failed completely after about a week and a half. I never even thought it might be battery-caused because I’d checked the voltage of all 3 rechargeable batteries I used before I installed them, and all worked fine originally. But today it occurred to me to check them again, and I found that one of the three failed to deliver anything like its expected voltage. A complete dud ! So I swapped out all three for new alkaline AAs, and the kit is restored to life, its lighting back to full power and working fine. Which pleases me immensely, since I really really like the kit “The Steam Ageâ€. My sincere apologies to Tone-cheer. Their products are fantastic, deserving 5 stars.

Not very precise made. The holes are too tight which cause the pieces to break because it requires too much pressure to get them into the holes. Now I have to fix several pieces to make it look nice. 3 stars because it looks good. I do not recommend buying.

Ottimo prodotto, fase di montaggio appropriamente lunga e prodotto finale davvero bello. Uniche piccole critiche che però non valgono una penalità di punteggio, a parer mio: la colla è una colla stick, non una colla attack, in secondo luogo vari passaggi del montaggio hanno richiesto un po' di forza e pazienza per far incastrare bene i pezzi. Ma ripeto, è stato piacevole e il risultato è davvero splendido.

Ich habe das Set mit Van Gogh gekauft. Gute Qualität, sehr schön anzusehen und gute Beschreibung, wenn auch auf Englisch. Auch eine super Idee mit dem Licht und Bewegungsmelder, einfach zu montieren. Das einzige was mich gestört hat: es war nur ein Klebestift dabei, also so einer wie man für Papier eigentlich benutzt, das hat nicht gehalten, ich habe dann Holzleim genommen. Aber das gleicht sie wieder aus, weil zusätzlich ein Stück Schleifpapier und viele Ersatzteile (Falls etwas beim bastel kaputt geht) dabei waren. Gerne wieder!
