Tool is to take oil filters off. But I bought it to help take tight lids off. Helps with Stanley tumblers lids off. Great for people with poor hand strength.

Based on another review for the shower head with filter , I searched for rubber can opener and found this tool, it works like a charm to open the thin and large-diameter shower head for which I could barely hold on to it by heads. Saved money to buy another shower head. Also worked to tighten a knob for a leaky shower connector.

I will state that the tool works well, once you figure out the proper way to set it up, and do a few practice runs. The product details has pictures depicting the strap inserted into the respective slot in different ways. This creates confusion regarding the proper setup of the tool. The tools arrive with the strap not inserted into the slot. The funny thing, the tool will open a jar lid when the strap is inserted either way. But, that could be due to the 'new-ness' of the tool, which allows a grip of the fresh strap. (Note that the strap is smooth, without any notches to lock placement.) My impression is that the strap should enter the slot with the captured end of the strap moved towards the short end of the handle top (away from the grooved section). In this fashion, when you are moving the handle, you are allowing the grooved section to interact with the strap. I attached a photo to show how I believe the strap should be inserted.I appreciate that they include a spare set of insert 'rods', one set for each tool. These can replace the metallic gizmo that pivots on the handle and connects to the strap. I don't really expect these parts to fail before the plastic body or the rubberized strap. But, it's nice to have the replacement parts, just in case. (Put in safe place, haha)The tool works to easily open jar lids, using the smaller version. I have little doubt that it'll work on pipes and other instances where a cylindrical grip is necessary.The poor documentation and the confusing pictures in the product details negatively impact my assessment. I do view them to be quite capable, and effective. Thus, the set of two tools rates 4+ stars.

I had this nut that needed to be removed before changing out valve for my delta 1400 series shower control. I tried a 24 inch adjustable plier, monkey wrench with a hammer and anything else you could think of. Nut would not budge. Saw this strap wrench on YouTube and decided to give it a try. I could not believe how easily the nut came off using this tool. It was unbelievable. I was thinking of hack sawing the nut off too. Good thing I didn’t. That would have been a nightmare if I sawed into the threads. This tool was a savior!

This might make a decent jar opener, but as a plumbing tool, it needs three hands to keep it tight and in position, especially in wet applications (like plumbing). Get a good large wrench or two instead...

I really like these grips. For my jars and other household items. They are comfortable yet sturdy. Value is excellent.The two sizes are even better. A quality made product, highly recommended even for inside jobs. If you have hand wrist issues. Then opening up items of a variety of sizes. Will give you comfort and ease.And you can still always use for outside car projects. Just don’t mix up with food, and dirty projects. I keep one for my car and other for my household needs.
