About this item

  • Powerful 163cc 4-Cycle Briggs & Stratton Engine
  • Adjustable Tilling Width (11”, 16”, 21”)
  • Variable wheel settings allow for optimal balance and transport
  • Low center of gravity for increased control

The Toro Front Tine Tiller features a two-position, heavy-duty, cast-iron tail and wheel assembly. With the wheels in the forward position, transport is a breeze. In the extended position, the center of gravity is lowered and the wheelbase is extended for incredible control and deep-tilling performance in between narrow rows or in wide open spaces. Powered by a 163cc 4-cycle Briggs and Stratton engine, the tiller provides plenty of power to accomplish your tilling tasks. Easily adjust the tilling width by simply adding or removing tines. The tilling width can be adjusted from 11 inches, up to 21 inches wide. With its compact frame and balanced weight distribution, the Toro Full Size Front Tine Tiller allows for fluid navigation in tight growing spaces and stable pivoting capability at the end of garden rows. The adjustable drag stake allows for customized tilling depth and speed. The airless wheels, robust forged tines, and all steel construction are all hallmarks of a tiller built to last.

I purchased a new Toro Rototiller in May to do my garden, and the axle was missing and after several calls to Toro and them sending back to Amazon and back to Toro, Toro told me to call Garde Gardner Dixie, one of their distributors and buy it. I called them and purchased a new axle that should have come with the rototiller, and they said it would be here in 4 weeks. No axle and I called today, and they said mid-October or maybe later. I would never buy another Toro productR. Butts

Got too late to use this season. So will be trying next spring. Friend David Maust put it together for us. He is a professional equipment person and he had not problems doing this for us. Looks like it will be fun to use later. It replaces one my husband had bought and broke for me. I am excited about getting a new tiller. A well known brand. If I remember, I will comment on it in the spring . Also got a weed eater for myself and it will make weeding between the rows easier. This tiller will be use in rough ground and I do not think it will have an issue. Built strong. Also love the wheels that are solid.

Was purchased by a friend in late June of 2024. Within a week the part number 144-5016 the tail mount upper cast part) snapped across the bolt holes. Since I didn't check those bolts during assembly I can only assume they were loose, causing the casting to break on both sides through the center of the tapped holes. The tiller has been at an authorized Toro repair shop since with an ecpected part shipping date of September 24th (backorder, no part available). So either the part is not available or they're going through so many they can't keep up?Thought of having a steel part made but that would void the warranty.Tentatively 3 months of no use.Pro- this tiller is an absolute beast that chews up ground fast. So fast that it tears itself apart obviously 😂Update- September 24th has come and gone with no part available, no ETA on getting one.Ended up purchasing a different tiller (Champion brand) and definitely put an end to purchasing any Toro equipment.November 1st and still no word on a part.
