UpdateDeveloped a leak around the top where the lid screws on. It was close to the seam down the tank. Others have had similar issues. I clean the tank then put a flashlight inside and pointed the beam around the lid so I couls see the little holesl.. Then I used my secret weapon for leaks and repairs. JB WELD. It is amazing stuff. Even patched a leak on copper once that has yet to fail. So spread a nice bead along the rim before the threads and verified no light shining through. Then I put some on the inside in the same area to add more reinforcement. Let it dry a few days. Hooked it back up.. No more leak. I will let you know if it does not hold, but I am sure it will. JB WELD rules.!Been using this for about a year. It works great. Mine is outside of the pond for ease of cleaning. I have something hiding it. On the intake and output I used Teflon tape on the threads then screwed the inside connector so no drip . I was generous with the tape especially up where it meets the pump filter housing. I recommend this filter. Be careful feeding the tube through the two inside filters. A few times I scrap a little skin on the inside lip of the pump. The inside lip at the top is scrap. I might try smoothing it with sand paper.

Great value. And performance. Filter system. The water clarity and appearance is fantastic and simple to use..

I needed a filter that would clean my 380 Gallon tank better than the two 5 stage filters I had been using - simply not enough volume. This filter is set up to filter about 1200 gallons per hour and after a year it is doing a great job. I do have issues with the filter in general.First is was difficult to assemble. The pieces had to be cut and they are intended to be simply "pushed" on to the hoses without clamps, simple friction holds things together. not a bad strategy until it comes time to clean the filter elements. For cleaning you are intended to pull the hoses off of the fittings - works about once and then the hoses begin to tear as you try to remove them. I finally found pieces I could use as "quick disconnects" at my local plumbing supply and can now remove the filter without tearing thing up. (see photo)Second, it was not practicle to try and remove the filter elements by disconnecting the internal tubing without tearing the hose or loosening the internal fittings. I finally simply cut the filter elements so I could remove them without taking the internal hoses apart. This seems to be working great.I can now clean the filter in about 20 minutes - start to finish - and I no longer damage the hoses.I strongly suggest the TotalPond folks offer some sort of "Kit" to create a filter that is easy to install and clean.

Has been used for an entire season for a 1300 gallon in-ground pool. A little difficult to assemble, very tight fit of the internal filter, but otherwise not a problem to get going. Prior to installing this, the pool always built up a algae especially in hot weather. After the filter was in use for a few days, the water became crystal clear, and stayed that way through the entire summer. The unit is set on a high point of ground, about 3 feet above water level about 15 feet distant from pool, where the filtered water is returned via hose to a waterfall and back into the pool. The filter fittings require 3/4" hose, but I use 1/2" hose running to it and 1/2 to 3/4 adapters to transition to the filter. This restricted water flow has never caused a problem, and the pump I use to run the system only runs 12-16 hours per day, depending on length of daylight hours. The lining of the pool does build up crud over time, but that is not the fault of this filter, it is a separate problem due to our high mineralized water. The filter itself does the job it is advertised to do, and does it incredibly well.

This started a very bad leak in the tubing outlet after one year due to the insecure attachment at tubing outlet and I almost lost all my fish. It is also very hard to clean the sponge filters unless you cut the filters; otherwise you have to remove the tubing just to clean it. I could never tell if the UV light was working either because the lense to see it is very bad quality. It was my first pump when I bought it so I did not know any better. After this broke, I bought the VivoHome pump to go with this and it has much better tubing attachments so I also bought the VivoHome filter and it is hands down way better and it costs the same. VivoHome filter has secure tubing attachments, you can easily tell that the UV filter works and it is much easier to clean the filters.

This filter cleared up my water garden as never before. Until this, I was using a smaller filter that contained a pump as well and I had to change the filter every day and the water was still very murky. I bought this in combination with a separate pump, the Hydrofarm AAPW100-GPH and it works like a charm. Water is now crystal clear
