I really like Toyo's carbide glass cutters. The price premium for this cutter over the economy cutters is because of the cutting wheel material. Toyo's are carbide (steel or tungsten), and economy cutters are just steel. Carbide is harder and therefore lasts longer and makes better cuts while demanding less effort. I've done many Tiffany-method stained glass projects on difficult-to-cut glass and certainly the extra money for Toyo more than pays for the less frustration and better results. The cutter fits my hand well. I have the average sized hands of a 6'1" man.The package included an oil dropper for super easy filling of the oil reservoir. The wheel lubricated itself with just the right amount of oil as I completed my most recent project. My one concern with this product is how the end cap will hold up over time. It is used for filling the oil reservoir and tapping the glass. With all the tapping, I'm concerned the threads will become loose or the acrylic will crack. Ideally one should not be tapping much anyway. I do not believe I have ever seen this issue with a Toyo, but I have not used the same one for very long--you may lose yours before it wears out like I do. Either way, only time will tell how it holds up.

This cutter is the best glass cutter ever! For umpteen years this has been my favorite tool.

I'm new to stained glass, so have used only 1 other (cheap) cutter. I'm totally satisfied with the Toyo. It comes configured to allow the head to pivot somewhat. I'm not sure I'd ever want that. However, there may be a solid purpose for that feature that I am ignorant of. (I've read it is to help in cutting curves, but it made it harder in my opinon.) It was easily remedied though by removing the head and rotating it 180 degrees to have it fixed and not pivoting.

This is my first quality glass cutter. And it makes cutting glass so easy and fast. I have yet to have a miscut. One quick scratch and it sheers great. Why do they even sell the cheaper one's at hardware stores? This is very affordable and works perfect. I'm sure it's the cutting material and continual oil that makes it work this well. Can't wait to get in some stained glass to try it on.

I do stained glass. My 25 plus year old cutter needed replacement. Bought several other brands and they did not come close in the precision of the cuts. So....back to the best!

Not my favorite. The head swivels around and is loose. I have tried tightening it multiple times. As long as I work hard to try and keep the head straight, it cuts okay. But I am a beginner and I really don't want extra things to worry about. I will be looking for another cutter!
