I've been looking for a water heater valve for a 1983 Toyota pickup for at least six months. I was told by Toyota parts that I could get this online even though it was discontinued by them. No luck--I tried at least 15-20 different places that said they had it--but again, no luck. Finally I took a risk on this part which isn't for a 1983 Toyota pickup but rather a 1984 to 1989Toyota forerunner or pickup (See below). This part fits perfectly. The mounting is identical. The cable linkage fits perfectly. And one of the two hoses fits perfectly. I just had to buy a U-shaped 5/8" hose to fit to the other pipe. I would change the heat settings on my 4Runner twice a year. I would manually open the valve in the winter and close it in the summer because the original was difficult to operate using the heater controls in the cab. This control valve changes things and makes me feel spoiled! My only complaint is the cost - it seems a little high. Still happy with it though.

After 30 years my OEM gave out and was leaking badly. I bought this one and it was a OEM Toyota and perfect match. Installed with no issues. Still have the old one to rebuild if needed.

This was for my 84 Toyota pickup 4x4. I read the other reviews because according to Amazon garage this was a NO FIT for this vehicle. One of the other reviews mentioned they used it for there 83 Toyota pickup so I took a chance. It fit perfect.

Will not pay $80 for a heater control valve. Am a mechanic, will reroute the heater hoses and buy a valve that is priced correctly. I own a 1984 Toyota pickup. Please stop placing this add on my kindle.
