This is my go-to cup for the last 20 years. I love the flexibility it provides with the felt packing, and it simply sounds the best to me in an ensemble. There are others out there that are nicer, some look cooler, and some have a specific sound, but when it comes to a well-rounded, blending cup mute, this is the one.

Cool mute to add to the arsenal. The H&B cup is a must for that traditional sound but I like the JoRal for the variety of tonal warmth available from the felt. Like another reviewer, I found my mute to fit a little too tightly for my liking, as my tumpet has a 5" bell. To remedy this, I replaced the corks with layered one-side-adhesive foam from a craft store, which seems to give it some adjustability. Mute could use a bit thicker cork to file as needed but I'm not complaining. JoRal makes good mutes nonetheless.

I've had Jo Ral products before and I love them. I used to have the brass mute, but it was recently damaged so I bought this copper one and I absolutely love it. It is still bright sounding, but I also hear a slight mellow tinge to my sound. At any rate, I recommend it.

Excellent mute. Great sound and excellent intonation all the way down into the low register. Free blowing as well, I love it.

For a straight mute, this blows nice and has a good sound. I find some straight mutes to be too muted; this seemed like a good compromise.

Grandson loves it! Says it improves sound on his trumpet and is really happy with the look of it on his trumpet.
