Originally I had a solid color stick-on pickguard. It was effective, but I never completely liked the look. This is a demo Ovation Custom Legend that was still in very good shape when I got it and I didn't want it to get all scratched up in the lower bout picking area in the event that I may want to sell it at a later date. Putting the new guard on was a breeze; getting the gummy emulsion layer off of the previous guard was a total nightmare. After peeling off the initial top two layers fairly easily, I ended up soaking up the gummy underlying layer with guitar scratch remover (or anything that wont harm the guitar surface) and gradually "rolling" it off with my thumb...very, very time consuming and it took forever to get all of the gum layer off. Amazingly, I didn't get a water blister from the rubbing that it took to roll off the gum layer. Eventually I got all of it off and putting the new pickguard on was very easy. Even lining it up before you stick it down isn't difficult. The transparent pickguard looks much better and so much more classy than what I had on it before. Happy playing. : )

There isn’t instructions in English, so you can either translate or guess. The protector comes with two outter covers. So you peel the first one, then the bottom one to show the sticky part. After both layers come off the protector itself isn’t very thick. Because of the instructions being in different language, idk if I can try and replace. So even though isn’t in a good place: it is what it is .

It was easy to put on. You can hardly tell its there. Does a good job of preventing scratches and the price was right.

Very disappointed with this product. It is suppose to be transparent and it is not. I have a gloss finish on my guitar and wanted a pick guard to protect the finish but not take away from the wood. This pick guard is not transparent or clear. It has a blue/purple tint to it. Looks terrible and you cannot tell until it is installed. So, I guess I will have to take it off and buy a different pick guard that is truly clear.
