Birdhouse is great, my birds use it to play in. Might have to cover the side if you want them to breed. Very sturdy and easy to install outside or inside the cage.

This was a great deal. A large 11 inch wide nesting box on sale for the same price as the smaller 7.5 inch box. It arrived in just a day, is very well made of pine (I think) and was super easy to install (we installed inside the large cage). Our two young Parakeets now have a veritable mansion to setup house in! They haven't figured out what to do with it yet, but as they get a bit older I'm sure the female will make great use if it. We plan to drill a small hole in the side and insert a tiny camera so we can watch the nest making, egg hatching and the birds caring for their young. Great purchase!

DO NOT USE THE INCLUDED NESTING MATERIAL! So dangerous! See photo. It’s stringy fibers that can easily get tangled around a squiggly baby’s wings, legs and toes. They can end up with amputations if circulation is limited and deadly infections if the skin is broken. You want to use soft materials such as natural cotton, Timothy hay and paper towel bits.I was a also bit disappointed that there’s no privacy shade for the clear acrylic side panel. This will make many birds feel too exposed and vulnerable. I’ll have to cover with a fabric shade that I can hot glue to the top edge (I’m mounting it so the fabric will be outside the cage) so they’ll have privacy but I can easily lift it to peek in. My other nesting boxes have wood privacy shade panels. Disappointed that this is missing on this box.Aside from that, it’s a nice size for budgies and the vertical configuration means you don’t have to worry about babies wiggling out of the nest and dying of hypothermia on the cage floor.
