The tool worked to make the chip nice and smooth, however, I ended up making the hole bigger 😩. Not my intention. Now I know for next time to only do ir barely on the bottom. The sides of the chip is where the most work was needed not the bottom. I did use running water while I worked on the chip. At least I know no one will cut their lips on the wine glass.

I had an expensive vase with a major chip on the rim.I’m not going to say it took the chip away and now it’s invisible because that’s not true, but it smoothed the sharp edges making it much less conspicuous and left a frosted area which almost blends into the rim. I know it’s there but looks a lot better. Which is the most I could hope for. I am satisfied.Very easy to use but I suggest making sure that the area you’re smoothing and the tool are wet at all times. I read somewhere here about oiling it which I tried and all it made was a gummy mess, water was the answer.

I'm probably not using it right, but I cannot figure out what purpose each profile is for. There's one rounded side, and one straight side. It definitely files the edge of my chipped glass...just can't get it fine enough to where it isn't noticeable and/or feelable. It's only about 2" long.

This tool is as expected and does a great hop of smoothing sharp chips on the rims of crystal drink ware. Depending on the size of the chip, with care it can be made nearly undetectable. Don’t let a sharp chip be the end of your expensive crystal set.

A couple of my favorite water glasses have developed sharp little chips on the lip. A few brief moments with this specialized file, the chips are still there...but they are no longer sharp. Nice!
