got caught in a fishing line on my first dive out with this knife. good thing i had this!the one downside to be aware of is that this particular SKU has just one mounting point - a 3/4 inch loop of webbing at the very top of the pouch (and the cutting tool is velcroed to the pouch to keep it in). no matter what you do, the pouch will flap around a little. i haven't found a perfect solution for mounting it on my bcd yet. in the aforementioned dive, i put my sternum strap through it so at least it was reachable. but deploying it and stowing it requires 2 hands.

This is incredibly sharp and is pretty much idiot proof. I hope I don't need it often but I never dive without it.

Having your tank valve tangled in monofilament is no fun. This tool allows you to remove it without even having to look at what you are doing.My stepson came over not long ago and was saying that he and his friend almost ended up having their kayaks sail toward Japan in the Yokohama Express when they were on Oahu's North Shore and their rudders became fouled in monofilament. They spent an hour extricating themselves with a nail clipper that Paul had in his dry bag. I immediately ordered him one of these. His paddling friends saw it and they all ordered one too.

This is a great quality cutting tool, and I carry it with me every dive. I have tested it cutting several different diameters of rope/line, and have yet to find anything that it can't cut through. The included razor is still very sharp, and has not rusted after 20+ salt water dives. I like the webbing mounted sheath as well, and the velcro has held up very well. This is a great replacement for a standard knife, and I don't see any situation where I would rather have a knife or shears. There is a spare razor included in the packaging should you need to replace it, and replacement is easy.
