The local Stihl dealer suggested I buy one of these, and I bought two. Before this, my grandparents and I used wire cutters to cut the string, which caused an end to be flat.To use it, all you need to do is bend the then push the cutter down over the loop, then the line is cut. The line is quickly, and almost effortlessly cut.Included is a small plastic ring, which is black on older ones and clear on newer ones. It allows the Line Snap cutter to be attached to belt loops, knife lanyard bails, etc.I have only one issue with these--the razor blade inside wears out after a few dozen uses. It doesn't last that long.I think these were only about $2 at the dealership, and were slightly different. These had the Stihl logo molded into the plastic.
