I typically have always gotten the lower priced, cheaper helmets and went hard back-and-forth on getting this one due to the price, even going so far as to place the order and immediately cancel it. But I am so glad I talked myself into getting it, thinking that it's returnable if it wasn't absolutely fantastic. Needless to say I absolutely will NOT be returning this helmet. It is not only more beautiful than the pictures depicted, when I put it on, it was instantly comfortable and I didn't even want to take it off__ there's a neck support that feels heavenly! So especially for those gals that at the end of the day after a long ride that take their helmet off, much as they would take their bra off after immediately returning home after a long day of work, this is absolutely, indisputably the helmet for you! * And as for the cost, well, safety is massively important within equestrian activities and a hospital visit or long care facility due to brain damage is much more expensive ;-) ...and for anyone whose significant others might not be an agreement with that mentality, just tell them you had Amazon points!

It seemed plain in the pics but its actually gorgeous in person. True to size. I have a round head and its so comfortable I have forgotten it was on before.Looks great when riding western or trail riding. Lots of compliments on it too. I hope they keep making this design. Every time I fall in love with a design Troxel discontinues it. Excellent stitching and takes abuse. Lasts and protects.

Really nice helmet with stylish design. I was a bit saddened, that Troxel forgot the purpose of the groove around the back of the helmet, which was for goggle straps. It was a nice feature on the Intrepid helmet which I have in black. It would be as nice feature, for your design team, to put back in the design of future helmets.

I rode in another helmet that was extremely painful and I think that different heads have different shapes; my head is oval. I know this from buying motorcycle helmets for years. I shopped around and Troxel was recommended in several product reviews for people with oval heads.I haven't worn it yet for riding but this helmet is very comfortable and I expect it to be "the one." It was three times as expensive as my last helmet but that is probably because of the style because of the leather cover and stitching on the shell and not based on the brand. Also, this helmet weighs a little more because of the leather shell but I don't expect that to be an issue for me. Your opinion may be different if you're not used to wearing a heavy motorcycle helmet. I'm pretty excited since my noggin will be protected and safe.

I have finally decided to start wearing a helmet when horseback riding. This helmet looks extremely stylish fits very well and is extremely well-made. I'm super happy I have made the purchase and decided to start wearing a helmet. It does the job.. If you are thinking about getting one I highly recommend the Cheyenne.

I followed Troxel's measurements prior to ordering and the helmet fit in the area that I was told to measure but narrowed toward the top of the head causing uncomfortable pressure points. It may just be my scull shape.Love the look of the helmet so I returned it and ordered a size up and it can be adjusted to almost fit on the smallest size. I'm going to keep it but I wish the skull cap was a bit more rounded.
