Simply put, these post screws are awesome and work so much better than standard rivets.

I use these with a drop of blue Loctite to attach mudflaps to bicycle fenders (for fender stays I use 1/4" ones I found locally). I put the slotted part to the inside of the fender and it makes a clean, neat-looking installation, looks just like a rivet. The reason I use these and not the bolts included with some brands/models of fenders is, with no bolts/nuts sticking out on the inside on the fender, there's nothing to grab any road debris that might be stuck to the tire. Lessens the chance of a short flight over the handlebars with a landing in front of a overtaking truck, which is not nearly as much fun as it sounds.

Decent screws. There is a hole in the back of the female end where the threads can be seen - not for decorative finishes, but no complaints at all.

I also use these for prop helmets, and yeah, they're a great size for use with Hobart visors. Visor plastic + 1x 3/32 rubber washer pretty much makes for a perfect fit.
