I was going to order just a grapefruit spoon because I love grapefruit and was really tired of juice squirting all over me when I used a regular spoon. But I saw this with the knife and decided the try it. The knife is fantastic. The dual blade on one end cuts both side of the membrane at once and then it's easy to take the other end and cut the middle where the membranes come together and cut around the peel. I almost don't need the spoons but they're handy when I haven't cut all the way through. This set makes eating grapefruits so much easier. I've told several of my friends about it. I highly recommend it.

I bought this as a gift for my significant other. She kept asking if I had run across a grapefruit knife on my kitchen quests. I am a huge fan of kitchen gadgets and I had never heard of a grapefruit knife. I just used a plain old paring knife.When she got it, she was very excited because it has a knife blade on one side and a double blade on the other to trim off the rind in between the sections of the fruit. Wow, is all I can say. I had never seen such a tool and when I first saw it at work, I was fascinated by the invention.She uses it all the time and even had me using it to cut grapefruit for her. I am happy to help because the tool is easy and fun to use ( can you tell how excited I get about gadgets like this?).New discovery and satisfied loved one. 5 stars, indeed. The set also comes with grapefruit spoons which are also very useful.

This will pay for itself in no time just with what you don't waste with eating grapefuit. I bought this for my husband because I saw how much grapefruit he was wasting. Only the curved end of the grapefruit knife is really needed. One end has a double blade and it's for separating the sections. I've found that a regular knife really works better for us. The quality is good and the spoons do a really good job as well in getting down to the bottom of the fruit. I am well pleased.

Nice set for the money. The curved side of the knife works really well, but the flat side never cuts the wedges clean and just ends up mangling the grapefruit. I typically use the curved part to do most of the work. Spoons are nice. The knife and spoons also work nicely to hollow out and de-seed jalapeños

This set contains the tools one needs to prepare and enjoy eating grapefruit. The design of the knife makes quick and easy work of separating the fruit from the peel and the membrane of a grapefruit. The clever design of the twin blades caused no problems even for my son who has difficulty with fine motor control. The plastic handle on the knife is nice. Unlike wooden handled knives, this one can be tossed in the dishwasher. The rounded shape of the handle works better in the hand than flat handles, making is easier to maneuver around the curves of the grapefruit. The spoons, although not top quality flatware, are perfectly shaped for removing the sections from the fruit. The serrated tips of the spoons allow one to remove every last bit of fruit without the pith. Basically, they are grapefruit spoons and work just as grapefruit spoons are intended. If you have problems with the quality of these spoons I'm sure your butler can find better ones. If you are somebody who sets your own table and prepares your own food, this set is a convenient way to acquire the tools you need to enjoy grapefruit.

I've been looking for a decent set of grapefruit spoons as I was getting tired of using regular spoons and dealing with the mess. So far these work great. Yes, they are not solid spoons. They are fairly decent spoons for the purpose of doing a single task. They do that task quite well though. My kids and I use these weekly without complaint. The jagged edges do a great job of digging into the grapefruit without causing a mess. Great improvement over using a regular spoon.

This knife is the best thing ever. Its like a Klingon batleth for grapefruit. Curved blade on one end perfectly fits the curvature of most grapefruit. But the dual blade on the other end is really awesome. Just straddle the membrane between sections with the parallel blades and cut from center to periphery. Sections come out with the spoon clean. Great little device!

The only thing I do not like is the double knife blade, it is not easy to clean. Beside that it work well. We like the spoons.

TenÃa tiempo buscando cucharas para comer la toronja en mitades, asà que cuando las vi las adquirà y me han servido mucho, el cuchillo es filoso asì que hay que tener cuidado, aunque trae unos protectores, de todos modos hay que cubrir los filos después de usarlo.

As described. Allows me to quickly section several grapefruit in the morning for a crowd. Note that the knife ends are quite sharp! Pointed spoons are not sharp, but effective. Handy little purchase.

We bought this as a gift, because we have a set that we use and really like! It's sturdy, sharp, and performs just like you would think. Only suggestion would be for it to come with a case, as it's super sharp!

I really like the spoons and had been looking for them for a long time with no luck till I happened to check Amazon. The knife works really well and come with the serrated curved blade and although I was not expecting the double blade on the other end, on the first time I had left it to soak in some dishwater for abt half hour, I discovered one of the blades had snapped off for some reason. I am not complaining as I was not happy with the way the double blade worked anyway. All in all a great set.
