Properties of nickel metal

I don't know what's going on with these strips but they are delaminating leaving a black substrate. I hate to say this for a fact but I think they might be nickel plated steel strips. They worked ok. I'm just not sure what the black core is.

There are a lot of bad reviews here, people stating it is turning their projects black. They hooked their leads up backwards during the plating process. I know this from my experience. Your negative lead goes on the object being plated.

Yes, these are Nickel strips. I used mine to make Nickel Acetate so I can electroplate nickel onto steel. Made a beautiful green acetate so good quality stuff and should do the job nicely.

I’m not an expert, purchased this for a small electroplating project. It works. But I don’t believe the nickel is anywhere close to 99.6% pure. One strip barely gets you the solution, and plating your object.
