I was a little suspicious that this mic even worked. I’m using mine with an iPhone 11 (iPhones 8, and 11 notoriously have problems with external mics), so I was concerned. After a few tests, however, I have determined that this mic does indeed work, it really is as easy as plugging it into your lightning port and hitting record, the quality is good (though the cord itself feels cheap). The noise cancellation isn’t great, but it’s always a good idea to record in as quiet a space as possible. Ultimately, the proximity to the mic (clipped to the collar) will help eliminate some background noise. This also worked with a basic voice recording app not native to the iPhone itself. Definitely a good purchase for a broke college kid like me dipping my toe into digital media.

This was very good for the price. I am a new YouTuber who doesn’t have a lot of money for good products, but this is what I needed! This isn’t for professional use. This will get me by until I can afford something better, though, so 5 stars! It’s exactly what I expected! The clamp is VERY tight! You don’t have to worry about it falling if your shirt anytime soon! Also, it was a lot smaller than I imagined but that’s actually a good thing! It’s light weight, too! The cord is long, which is good but sometimes it gets tangled (which happens with wires so I’m not gonna take a star off for it). Also, just a little tip. Instead of holding the microphone in front of your mouth, you should hold it to the side. The sound quality is the same, and your breath won’t be directly on the microphone. I use to have my microphone in front of my mouth and I didn’t like that when my breath hit it, the audio glitched a bit. This was fixed by changing the location of the mic.

Initially couldn’t find the microphone in filmic pro as an aux microphone bit unplugged it and plugged it back in and it popped up as an option in the audio settings. Way less static noise than the iPhone 8 microphone. Be sure to speak in a soft normal volume voice. If you have A loud booming voice it can cut out and sound distorted. And depending on where you mount the microphone on yourself and how you sit determines the audio. Like reflections and what not so test out a few locations and see what sounds the best for yourself.I used it as a microphone 3ft in front of me out of shot of the frame and it was a way better experience than the built in microphone. I’m really impressed. But I sure there’s gotta be better microphones out there. I didn’t try it as a real lav mic with it clipped on to my shirt, mainly because the spring clip was designed in such a way that it’s too stiff and could easily slip and pinch your hand. But this was a good investment and will use it more often in the future

I still use it after 3 years of having it. Also the cord is nice and long.

I got this microphone for recording videos for YouTube. After trying a wireless mic I went with this corded one for better sound quality and reliability. the cord is plenty long and I can move anywhere on my set that I need to without any problems. I've tried it in various locations and I have found that having it in the center under my chin gives the most consistent sound quality.

Don’t buy these hella cheap mics. Period. They do not work whatsoever. Yes, the mic does record sound but it records every single sound made by the slightest bit of movement. Even if you barely move, the inaudible rustling sound coming from your clothes will completely drown out all other sounds when listening to playback. This is supposed to be a lapel microphone meaning you’re supposed to attach the mic to your shirt/jacket with the built-in clip, but that’s utterly pointless. Your voice will not be heard over any physical adjustment. I would immediately give up on trying to make the lapel mic discreet by tucking it in your collar or your hair. All you will hear is scratching noises up against the mic. What I would suggest to make the microphone pick up your voice is attaching the mic clip to an object like a microphone stand that’s sitting right in front of your face. No use being discreet about it. Now, make sure the mic clip is attached to object that will not move the entire time you’re recording. Lastly, try not to move whatsoever. Your mouth is the only thing allowed to move as the rest of your body remains completely still. That’s the only way I have made this cheap POS work for me before it just randomly quit working three months after purchasing it.What I would recommend to those who haven’t bought this product, simply don’t. Just buy a regular microphone, preferably one with a stand. If you think this is a nice cheap option to hold you down while looking for a better replacement, you might get very lucky and have success with it. All i can tell you is that I have bought other mics just like this, and I have to go through hell each time I needed to record something. Trust me; whatever you’re recording on has better built-in microphones than this crappy item.
Great product! Thank you! Would recommend!

Plugs right into my iphone and works great. It is wired so you can only record so far away, but the sound comes out clear and great. I've recorded many videos with it. Would recommend. Thank you!

Is much clearer than using the iPhone microphone. Although the iPhone mic is good enough. This clip on mic is great for when I'm moving around my desk. Note as noted by the vendor you will not be able to hear at the same time, this is fine for me as I just record with it.

well if it isn’t a little unassuming mic. I didn’t expect it to be so good? it is very good quality for the price. packs a lot of punch for it’s size. very clear and although the wire is thin it’s also quite durable. and it has the little clip you can use to hold the mic or clip to clothing. how nice! no complaints. what else can I say? get your silly little mic today!!

Why is it so hard to find a decent iPhone mic? This one's terrible. It overmodulates, so all audio that comes out of it is way too distorted for any kind of professional use.

Bought this for my daughter as she always has videos for school. This was just what she needed. No background noise, especially when filming outside.Wish there was a wireless version in this brand. I would buy that too.
