My background: have been playing tuba for quite a while, probably at least fifty years since I first started, and have played in the local Municipal Band for 33 years, plus have a gig playing a few times a year in a vintage jazz band. I’ve been using a real Conn Helleberg for twenty years on a couple of different tubas. Got tired of switching the mouthpiece from case to case, and was concerned about forgetting the mouthpiece for a concert. So I shopped for another Helleberg. Went into sticker shock, price had nearly trebled since my last purchase. Found this one, gold plated no less, for less than I paid for my original twenty years ago.I honestly cannot tell the difference between this and the original. I would definitely buy it again, and would recommend it to anyone, especially someone who wants to try a Helleberg without breaking the bank.

Just got it today, works great, I dropped it a few times on a rocky floor and there is a minor scratch on it so it seems durable for now, but the box it came in was super hard to open so don't be scared to pull out a saw tryna get the piece out😂

I've been using this mouthpiece for only 3 months, and the rim's gold plating is already almost all gone. I would highly recommend NOT buying this product.It's a shame such cheap products are being sold by Layger: it ended up being a throwaway mouthpiece, with the seller unwilling to correct the situation since it is past the 30 days.In my opinion, a mouthpiece should last YEARS, and this mouthpiece (and would venture any mouthpiece sold by Layger) should be avoided.
