Great ice melter. Temperatures below 0 degrees and Hugh wind chill, the product kept a 12 inch hole in the 3 inch of ice. Worked great with no issues. My koi pond is 1400 gals, and 4 ft deep. Highly recommend.

I live in Michigan and we have some really cold winters last year I had 2 1/2 inches of ice on my pond and had a hard time keeping a hole open with the bubblers. But so far with this deicer none of my pond has had any ice on it and we have had cold weather in the teens. I am so happy with this product so far and as you can see in the picture my love it too. They hang right around it. It also has been keeping the water temperature between 40 and 50 degrees.

The unit was apparently defective in workmanship. When I installed it and turned it on, it worked for about15 minutes and then cut off. I tried to turn it back on but it kicked off my breaker. To give the benefit of the doubt, I contacted support before deciding to just box it up and return it.The first communication from support told me I should not have plugged it in a GFLCI outlet. What??? Then I was told to send a video showing how I installed it. Mind you, 9 degrees F and 5 inches of snow on the ground at this point. I stated that I could not produce a video and support stated they could not do anything if they could not view what I was doing. Ok, standoff. The only thing I did was plug it in, place it in the tank and followed the "on/off" to activate it. I was not sure how a video could possibly show the breaker tripping. When I pulled the unit out of the tank to dry and clean before boxing it up for return (Thank you, Amazon!!), I heard water sloshing around in the thing! Had I not been plugged into a GFCI outlet, I probably would have burned out the wiring or the breaker itself from the outlet. Obviously, the unit was not properly sealed when assembled. Support also asked me to send a video shaking the unit so they could hear it sloshing. I replied I was sure there would still be water in it when the return was received because although I tilted it onto a towel, the water would not come out.I bet the unit would be awesome if/when it works as advertised. Support from this company communicated quickly and clearly, so no problems there. However, it was a standoff-I could not present a video and they would not move forward without one. Nice and polite goes a long way but does not necessarily resolve a problem. I intensely dislike not having warranty information before purchasing but gambled on that issue and lost. Again, thank you, Amazon for your return period!I have purchased a deicer from a different vendor. I hope this one works!

This product works great! It keeps the ice melted in a large enough area for the fish to be able to survive the winter!

I bought this for my backyard fish pond. The pond has been frozen over a couple of times this year, and the heater is a true blessing. It has lights, a red for hot and a green for cool, that you can see from the house whether or not all is working. It's simple to set up and use. I had to reset it once after the first snow and ice storm here in VA, but it was easy to do. I'll buy another if necessary. The fish seem really happy!

Prevent small pond from freezing solid

We have a slightly complex pond system, with the main features being a small upper pond (200 gal?) fed by a pump from the main lower pond (about 3000 gal) and a waterfall connecting the two. In Arkansas, we typically have one period in winter where we experience constant below freezing temperatures for 3-5 days. While trying to keep the waterfall running does keep a hole in the ice, it also displaces large amounts of water as ice builds up all around the waterfall; this has led to some disasters and close calls for our koi. This winter I invested in the Turbro Pond De-icer. Because it floats so easily, we had to shut off the pump and waterfall anyway to keep the deicer from being pushed to the pond edge. In January we had a period of 3 days of continuous freezing temperatures (with additional freezing nights before and after) and lows down to about 12 F. I am happy to say that the deicer kept a large ring of ice-free water which never got smaller than 1.5 feet in diameter even after the coldest nights. An aerater in the upper pond kept a hole in the ice for a couple of days before freezing over. The Turbo de-icer was definitely a great investment for us.

This deicer works great so far. Unfortunately I may have purchased it too late to save my fish as I didn’t realize how thick the ice had become. It took several days to thaw. Since my fish don’t usually come to the surface til spring I probably won’t know till then if they survived ðŸ™

IT's been a rough weather 3 weeks and this De Icer did its job, very satisfy so far, all my fishes and frogs still alive and hibernating properly. I'll update this post at the end of winter.

The heater is working and I can only assume the fish and vegetation is happy with it

Bought this after finding a crack in a previous heater after 11 months of use. It was plastic, so I went for something different this time. This one was a HUGE disappointment. Frozen over at 30 degrees farenheit in less than 12 hours. Don't bother with this. Very disappointed. The last heater from a different company survived a whole northern winter, running for several weeks at -1 Farenheit and colder.
