When determining your build for Snake Chaps (Husky or Regular), measure your thigh circumference. Be sure sure to give yourself 2-3” of extra room so the Chaps don’t fit too tight and you have some mobility. When selecting your inseam length (short, regular, tall) the manufacturer typically recommends you go with an inseam that falls 1-2” shorter than what you normally wear for a pants inseam. I work outdoors and hike through thick brush where I can't see the ground. Wearing the Turtleskins I don't have to focus looking out for rattlesnakes. They've become part of my PPE. I walk through weeds and shrubs without worrying coming across a snake. I also wear steel toed boots or snake boots. I usually wear 32" pants and ordered size 30"-32" and they fit great. Knowing they've been tested with snakes provides a sense of confidence.

My wife wears them clearing 10 acres of very thorny brush covered land. She bought them out of fear of snakes, but we haven't seen the first snake. The land is covered in briars. She walks through the briars and never feels a single briar due to theses pants. She loves them.

I live in southwest Louisiana on a small track of land (27acres), located just inside the city limits, of our hometown. Since April I've killed a lg Eastern Coral snake , a lg copperhead, a half dozen cottonmouths, and I saw a friend kill a timber rattler that exceeded 11' These are hands down the one acccessory, you cannot be without, if you intend on being around nature.

Bought these to thwart Rattlers and South Texas brush where everything has thorns. These work great keeping nasty thorn out of my legs when entering brush. I am very happy with them.

These chaps are the top of the line. They are lightweight yet wind resistant and offer great protection when its a little chilly I can wear them with shorts and have absolutely no fears. I saw a five foot rattlesnake in the foothills of the rockies, and after a baby rattler tried to bite me I decided to buy these chaps. I did not go with snake boots because snake boots are very tall and uncomfortable trying to hike up a steep hill with boots that go up to your knee. These chaps gave me better flexibility and I feel more protection than the snake boots, and instead I feel comfortable hiking with a high quality all leather mountaineering boot. I guess if I got bit on the foot I maybe asking for trouble, but I always watch where I step and so far no worries about rattlesnakes. Also they give me peace of mind because the steep hill I climb I feel there is more potential to be struck on my sides as I am going up and past thick brush rather that more onto my foot. I just wish they would make some arm sleeves or a shirt or even a neck gaiter out of the same material. They are machine washable, air dry, and durable, and very very briar resistant. I never hike without them.

These are my favorite snake chaps. I now have 2 pairs of them. I like that they are very lightweight, but still tough and durable. Yes, they are Very Expensive $$$. But, in my opinion, they are worth the money. These are especially valuable to me during spring Turkey Season in Alabama when walking through tall grass early in the morning. I have owned several different brands of snake chaps. These are The Best!Mike in Alabama
