The part of the strap that splits into two areas for stability has increased the gap between them. My mask strap cover was not large enough to hold the straps flat as it did the original that broke. The straps are slightly bent, but not enough to cause a failure or even warrant concern. The strap attached to mask perfectly and I was back in the water fairy fast. I had purchased this strap prior to the original breaking and it was in my save a dive kit.Pick up one of these for your dive kit. I already ordered another one.

Bought as a replacement strap for my TUSA mask. Had to use it while in Aruba, and it was a perfect replacement. Glad I had it though!
