These cap lights fit perfectly on our deck pillars. They were really easy to install with the screws provided. There are two choices of light intensity. We chose to use the softer light, and it makes the deck cozy at night. (Our neighbor has the same lights and uses the brighter intensity and it looks fine. Because these lights are solar powered, two of the lights that are in the shaded part of the deck all day (since Fall arrived) do not light up at night. We periodically put these two lights in the sun to charge them and then reattach them to the pillars. The box of cap lights we ordered contained 3 different size lights (to fit a variety of pillar sizes, I guess), so there is some waste in the way these lights are packaged, but it's still a good price for the lights. The only thing we wished for, but couldn't get, were lights that matched the deck (gray) , but the white looks good.

I do like these lights- they are easy to install, look nice, and I appreciate the variety of base styles.I needed lights that had a flat base since the 4x4s on our deck have no room around the edges (so we'd be unable to use the base that has a lip overhang around all the edges). You have three options with these lights, which is really nice.I like that you can change between white light or warm light; personally, I think the warm light is nicest. At night, when they are on, the light is very concentrated at the bulb- I know this sounds like a "duh" thing, but I feel like some lights do a better job of diffusing the light and sending it downward. Because these lights don't send the light downward well, the white light was super intense in my opinion. I found the softer light much nicer.My only complaint is all the waste. Because the lights come with 3 different bases each, when you use the base you want for each light, the others just get tossed. I wish that you could choose the base style upon ordering to minimize the waste of the extra bases/so less gets thrown away.

I replaced all the tops of my very long deck with these lights and it looks amazing! During the day they add a richness to the look of my banisters and in the evening when they turn on it’s just amazingly beautiful! The deck is well lit with them on high which is what I wanted. I can see great with no other light on. If it’s been a nice sunny day they stay bright until around 4am and a little dimmer by daylight. They stay lit all night long either way. On cloudy days the stay bright only an hours less time than on sunny days. They are very easy to install… literally 2 screws attached to the top of your post and the attach the top piece (actual light) to that and you’re done! Wait for evening and enjoy a beautiful deck or walk way. I have installed twenty so far and they are all beautiful with no problems. They arrived doubled boxed for no damage in shipping. I am so pleased!!

The lights came fully charged. Color was great. Came with 3 different bases. One was already attached which threw me for a second. I was using the wider 4 inch base. It didn't look right, couldnt figure out how it attached. Then I realize the light already had a flat base attached. Had to take it off and put my base on. Each light came with 6 mounting screws but the base I used had a wide lip that went over the post very well. I only needed 2 screws to fully secure it on the top of the post and the light just locked on with a slight twist. I did read reviews and put the light on warm light setting. They are nice and bright on that setting. All worked perfectly. Lasted all night. Came on at 9 pm and were on till 6 am. Very impressive. Not sure how they will weather. Definately recommend.

These lights are not worth purchasing. After 6 months of use had to replace batteries as they were no longer charging. As for the quality of the material used, it does not last outdoors. The white becomes quickly discolored and it cannot withstand the weather. The plastic becomes very dry and brittle that just a slight touch and they begin to crumble.
