I commute with this bag 3-4 times a week, and it is very well designed. It is quite fashionable too, and works well as a backpack by itself.I work at a company with a large (multi building) campus, so throughout the day, I need to use it as a backpack as I walk / shuttle between buildings for meetings. During my commute (9 miles each way), I use it as a pannier.PROs:- Sturdy fabric and zippers, holds its shape well- Wide opening, zips fully open for easy access- laptop compartment fits my 13" MBP well, can probably go up to 15"- lots of pockets, and a mesh pocket as well- Clips that attach to the rack work great, easy on and off, secure during multiple bumps along the commute- Very light when emptyCONS:- Transforming the bag does take some getting used to- The bag is quite long (due to backpack form factor), so depending on your bike setup, it could get close to your brakes / sprockets.Overall, I love this bag, and it has held up well during the 4 months I've had it.

Writing this review after commuting with it 1 yr and ~2000 milesWhen my worked moved I jumped on the opportunity to start commuting again to work by bike (11 mi round trip). I bought a new bike and I soon realized I did not want a have a heavy backpack (with laptop etc) on my shoulders (also hot in CA) or struggle to strap a backpack onto my bike rack (unstable, straps in my wheels,...). I loved the idea of a pannier but wasn't impressed with the options I initially found. And I wanted to keep flexibility of a backpack. I found two convertible backpack pannier options and after seeing an online video review I thought this seemed the best option. I hesitated for a bit as this backpack is not cheap but decided it would be worth it given I used it daily and this brand specifically position themselves as commuter gear. For the first few months a short distance of my commute was over a very bumpy dirt trail. the third hook on top and the clips on the bottom did wonders. It fits my computer, spare tire, mini pump, tool, levers, air capsules, change of clothes,... Just enough. I wish it would have been slightly bigger but it works for me. After a few weeks, one of the two top hooks got loose. I contacted customer service and Reid (CEO) immediately sent me instructions on how to fix it (just needed to re-tighten a screw that fell in a hidden compartment). It was super easy and I am only ikea level handy. I recently broke my bottom clip and they replaced it - complements on the house. Awesome service. They even sent it to me twice for free because the first clip was delayed in the mail and we thought it was lost. Don't have much experience with the rain cover. I have not used the backpack option often but when I did, it was super handy. When you where it as a backpack the pannier hooks are not noticeable. The conversion takes about a minute. Very solidly built, well thought through design. Love it!

*Waterproofness update*If you happen to get caught in an Arizona monsoon storm that drops buckets of water on you, the backpack (+ rain cover) cover won't keep dry. The rain cover doesn't go all around the backpack, leaving the back exposed. Papers in my pack were wet and ruined, but the laptop (in separate compartment) was completely dry still. I think this is only an issue with LOTS of rain though (like 2" in 15 minutes). Still rating this backpack at 5 stars.*Update* after a few months of useI love this backpack even more than I did when I just got it. Regarding the stiff zippers, this is not a problem anymore now, the zippers just needed to be broken in to I suppose. I am amazed at how handy this backpack is in general, regardless of it being a pannier as well. I had to go to the tropics for a few weeks for work and actually used this as my travel/daypack as it holds shape really well, it is functional but at the same time looks stylish enough for important meetings. I was in a tropical downpour for about 5 minutes, without using the raincover, while I was under an umbrella, it turns out the backpack wasnt but all my content was 100% dry. I've been looking for a backpack pannier like this for a long time and happy I have finally found one! Now I really hope it stands the test of time and I'll be able to use it for many years to come.*end of update*I absolutely love my backpack. It goes up and down very easy (5 seconds), holds my laptop really well, plus it can be used as a very normal daypack as well. In practice I don't convert it to a backpack each day as it is too much hassle (but really it only takes 30 seconds, I'm just lazy), I just carry it in my office and only convert it if I really need to go somewhere.I was worried it would be a bit on the small side but it isn't at all. With my laptop in it, I still have plenty of room for a change of clothes and lunch. Also the outer pockets provide extra space (great to store cell phone for quick access) and water bottle holder. My only complaint on it really is that the zippers can be a bit cumbersome. They seem really durable, which is probably why, but they don't close very smoothly.Overall, completely worth the money!

I really like this backpack, and it's nice to support a Canadian startup. The capacity is a bit small for my liking, but I understand it is so it fits on the rack. It feels secure when it's on the rack and I don't worry about becoming loose and falling off at all. I would rate this 4.5 stars if possible. I have two minor complaints. First, the overhang of the fabric above the zippers is frustrating when go to close the zipper. Second, it feels like I'm going to break the clips to get the backpack off the rack; this is because the clips snap onto the rack. I have a pair of panniers from a different company, and I like their mechanism of an open/shut lock that opens when you lift with the handle, and closes when you set it down. It feels nicer getting those panniers off the rack than this backpack. Future design improvement perhaps?

Exactly what I was looking for, a way to bring a backup to the office without getting my back sweaty or needing to move a bunch of stuff between bags. Lots of room for laptops + accessories. Strap length is OK for me (didn't seem too long like some reviewers mentioned), and when mounting it on the bike I just fold the backpack straps around the front & clip them together which feels solid to keep out of the way. A few things feel like they could be done better (such as a way to clip the straps out of the way), but in general it's well thought out, especially how the clips to hold onto the bike are protected by a rear cover, which also helps keep the back part of the bag slightly cleaner.Might have preferred metal clips with a bottom bungee like other bags use, but so far this seems solid. Sealed zippers and included rain bag (which also has high-vis) is a nice bonus.

This is my second panier/backpack combo I've bought from 2 Wheel Gear. The design is brilliant and the quality is unmatched.
