The regulator was easy to install. I'm getting 13.5 - 14.4 volts at the battery. Unlike others that I've purchased off of Amazon, the leads go all the way to the battery and ground. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Bolts right in. All the wires are correct lengths. So happy to see the volt meter where it needs to be. Buy this one. Be happy.

To be fair I have updated the title of my review from I DO NOT RECOMMEND, to something less caustic. This may have been a fault other than the regulator. After being contacted by the manufacturer, which stated un-categorically that the regulator simply "Cannot" catch fire. It sure looked like it was on fire to me, No visible flame, but LOTS of thick grey smoke. Scared the crap out of me, thought I was going to watch my bike burn to scrap right in front of me. Still, you sometimes get what you pay for, and from now on I will just spend the extra money, and be more comfortable with the wisdom of my purchase. On the other hand, in the end I just re-installed the original regulator that had been subjected to the same, "de-laminated rotor magnet" problem and I put 1200 miles on the bike last week, and had zero problems. Even with the very old, used, regulator that had been subject to the same electrical conditions. Over-all, I have replaced my stator, alternator rotor, regulator, and battery, the stator twice. So, the story.... I replaced battery, and regulator with this one. System did not charge, (not the regulator's fault, to be clear) Replaced replaced stator, using same battery and regulator, system still did not charge. Befuddled, I then realized the only possible problem had to be the alternator rotor. Then after inspecting closely the alternator rotor and realizing magnets were broken loose and floating, causing system to charge at low voltage, or not at all, I replaced it with a new one. When I replaced alternator rotor I also replaced the stator with a new one, as I did not want to risk re-use of the one the magnets had contacted, second ride after new installation of those 2 parts.... (1 ride to town 22-24 miles round trip), I rode 8 miles from my house and the regulator direct shorted and caught on fire.... Did not burn up bike as I was able to disconnect battery quickly and pour a bottle of water over regulator. Very disappointed. I personally still Do NOT recommend buying a budget price regulator, but, in all honesty CANNOT directly blame this part, as too many other variables occurred during this adventure.

I bought another regulator from Amazon and it sucked. Never got up to 14 volts. Then overnight I started the bike next morning and it was charging around 16 volts or more. I shut it off immediately. So I'll see how this one works, I haven't installed it yet.This one also didn't work like it was supposed to. So bought one from J&P and works fine. The seller was very helpful and sent me a full refund, even though the return time had run out. That is why I changed my review

Purchased one and did not charge over 12.7 volts. Redid my tests on the stator. returned it and ordered another one. The second one is the same way. Reran the tests again to make sure it was not the stator. Stator checks out as good again. I work on car for a living so I do have the proper equipment to test this item. Sad to say I can not recommend this item. It is electronic and I have gotten bad parts before at the dealership. That is why I got a seconded one.

I replaced the stater regulator, The battery and the voltage regulator was the last thing I needed to replace. So I ordered it while I was out of town replaced it when I got back in town just to find out it didn’t work and I’m passed my return
