I have bought a few of these. I adapt my RP1210A (Nexiq USB Link) to various equipments J1939 network. Last one I used was for a log splitter. I rigged up a J1939 connector to communicate with its engine controller. This way I just plug in without disassemble or pinning anything. Quite ingenious if I do say so myself LOL
