Love UArt sanded paper. It takes many layers of soft pastel, PanPastels, charcoal & pastel pencils. Wonderful surface to work on. My favorite color is black because it seems to make the colors pop.

One can use anything on it. I tone/paint the papers with watercolor and/or acrylic paint before I paint with pastels.It is lots of fun.

If you are interested in experimenting with pas pastels and pencils, this is the product for you. The 800 series is better, but this is great to start with. There are better brands, but... for the price, this is great to start with. You will need to purchase the pan pastels and the tools that go with the sets. WELL WORTH THE BUY!!!!! The only drawback I could see is that this package is small. You really want to work on a larger area. the problem.... the larger pieces are MORE expensive. All in All.... This is GREAT for small pieces and if you want to try this awesome medium. A very small learning curve using the necessary tools. You will have a lot of fun!!!!!

The lighter colored paper like this is better than the black that makes pastels dark no matter how hard you try to lighten the colors

It was 600 grit Uart dark paper and is perfect for PanPastels. I also used pastel pencils for the details.

I love this paper! Never tried dark paper before and it really makes the colors pop. U-art is my favorite paper for pastels . The price is fair and because I cut it in half ( for 6x9 painting ) economical for me. Will definitely buy again.

I thought this was a pad, but the sheets are separate, which is fine. I've used one so far with pan pastels and pastel pencils and it worked great. It has the perfect amount of tooth.
