About this item

  • The RFID card reader can't work-alone and it needs to work with Wiegand protocol access controller, such as access control panel, fingerprint device or master controller.
  • Support wiegand 26bits or wiegand 34bits output format.
  • Ultra-low power consumption, the standby current is less than 50mA.
  • It uses high performance MCU to ensure stable performance, and low-power circuit makes the service life longer.
  • Widely used in factories, houses, residential quarters, offices, mechanical and electrical control equipment and so on.

Wiegand Format:

  • The standard 26-bit Wiegand format is an open format; it is a widely-used industry standard. Almost all access control systems accept the standard 26-bit format which consists of 2 parity bits, 8-bit facility code, and 16-bit card number fields. The Wiegand interface is commonly used to connect a card swipe mechanism to the rest of an access control system.

A little bulky but works perfect with my L2/4 Controllers.

I tried to install this reader at my church. It will not even acknowledge 26-bit a fob being presented despite having the proper 12vdc voltage. No beep, no color change on the LED, nothing. That same fob works on other readers with no issues. The reader should acknowledge a fob or card being presented regardless of it being connected to an access control system. I have nearly 20 years as a technician in the electronic security industry and know access control systems.

Worked fine, but not with HID cards.

I bought this to test the interface with a Raspberry Pi and managed to get it working very reliably with little more than a pair of small signal diodes to block to the 5V signals from coming back to the Pi's GPIO. The device works very reliably.

I ordered 6 of these and they would not recognize any cards. I am a low-voltage specialist.

The led and beep wires aren't functional. Also the firmware lights the green way too long after card scan. If its an invalid card I don't want the reader to turn green.
