When observing the flame color reaction of potassium, necessary to pass through the blue cobalt glass, because the potassium compound is not, and often mixed with some impurities, such as sodium ( not easy to separate ).

Perfect for my laser cutting project! These cobalt blue glass sheets are exactly what I needed. The vibrant color and smooth surface worked beautifully with the laser cutter, producing crisp and precise cuts. Great quality and value for the price - highly recommended for any glass-based project!

This is, as advertised, cobalt-blue glass. It does block yellow light while transmitting blue and violet.However, its finish is EXTREMELY rough. There are deep ripples and bubbles, and the edges are roughly cut and very sharp. The two pieces come in a single, thin, tattered plastic bag, with no padding or surface protection. The order I received had small shards of glass in the bag, with some leaking out through holes in the bag.This sort of glass is often used in classroom demonstrations, but I wouldn't let students handle these panels. The sharp edges and loose shards are a hazard.For classroom use, I'd recommend looking for something with ground or polished edges. I can't really recommend these.

Cobalt blue plates provided excellent usage for my physics classes.
