I bought this to replace a worn--out whole house attic fan 60min timer that no longer turned past 15mns.Pretty sure the previous owner had a habit of turning the dial counter clock-wise, which is a big no-no for any of these dial timers. However it is a testament to the build quality of the vintage unit as it only failed after 30 years of use and abuse.Although not as sturdy and beefy as the 30 y.o original part, it was a direct &easy no- brainer ,two wire installation. This item did come with instructions, so slow down and take a few moments to read them just to be sure that you have some idea of what you're doing.Again the feel of this unit is not as sturdy as the old one--the dial turns quite easily against the lightweight coil spring and feels a bit delicate as you turn it to set the run time. The clicks of the cog wheels as the dial is turned seem very soft and not very positive. No way would I believe that it would endure many counter-clock-wise rotations and continue to function. As it is , this unit does function well and with responsible use , should last quite a while if used properly--i.e no counter clock-wise dial turning.

This is a great idea and I would have paid twice the price if it was better quality. As I was installing it I could see that the plastic was very soft including the threaded center screw. It seemed to work ok and I thought that if I was careful with it it would last. It was in a three switch plate. Yesterday I bumped it with my hand. Very lightly. The whole face came off and all the little keys ended up on the floor. Amazon said free returns on this. I tried to return it but the option was to contact the manufacturer. When I tried to do that their website didn’t exist anymore. Very disappointed with Amazon for not knowing that.

I was skeptical about this switch because of a high return rate and some bad reviews. All in all, it's a great little timer. A little chinsy, but works as it should. I still haven't figured out how to get a cover on it.....

First switch arrived and was defective. The replacement arrived today, just installed, and, seems to be working perfectly. Although, unfortunately, I have seen some reviews suggesting that the switch failure rate/endurance/longevity is questionable. Time will tell. For the moment, I am satisfied. Installation is straightforward and just as simple as installing any single pole light switch.

A bit tight in the outlet box but otherwise is working well to turn garage lights on/off.

This is a good 24 hour timer switch, but it doesn’t work for my application. I need an A/B timer switch that operates either circuit A, circuit B, or both off. I originally wanted to get a pair of wifi switches and use Homekit to schedule alternating duct boosters to operate, but those are much more expensive and there is no documentation indicating wether a wifi thermostat can call the switch function to begin, since I would not want the boosters to run without the HVAC already on.Anyway…This timer switch has a manual off/timer/on slider. I was thinking that I could instal a pair of these next to each other, then set the timed tabs to alternating times, and simply slide on the timed mode after turning on my HVAC. Unfortunately, the dial does not keep moving while the slider is set to off. That means I’ll have to spin to reset the current time on both switches, every time I slide them on. And given that each tiny tab represents a half hour, they may not be synchronized very accurately at all, which means both duct boosters could run in opposition to each other, or neither at all. Also, there is a normal audible click sound when the timer activates the load. All the dial timers I’ve used make this sound. It’s easily ignored by me, but my gf didn’t like it.Installation of the switch was not difficult. However, only a metal cover plate will fit between the tabs. I chose to cut out holes in a blank nylon plate and saved myself from having to take apart any of the dial. While this switch could work very well for a single light, I couldn’t get it to work for my project.

Great way to have the fan on for when it's stinky - without forgetting to turn it off. Easy to install and works great.

Very functional. Easy to use and instal. No stupid little screen with 900 different setting. 2 setting. On and off. All you need in a timer switch. Great for anyone not tech savvy. Very happy with it.

Installed this timer to turn my outside garage lights on and off. Lights turn on with no issues, but they stay on even when the timer reaches the "off" time. I guess the switch is stiff and does not open the circuit by itself. I have to hit the device with my finger for the lights to go off. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. It looks like this is a common theme. Also, this is not a "Honeywell" product as advertized. The listing is very misleading as Honeywell typically makes quality products and this one is not. PLEASE CORRECT THE LISTING ACCORDINGLY.

This worked fine without using the ground wire. I do wish they'd sized it for norm double plates switch as you can see from the photo. I could unscrew and get that plastic plate on top but it didn't seem worth the effort. What really annoyed me is that the electric wire connectors are old fashioned rather than the new easier to push in wire and tighten design. It will be used to run the bathroom fan for 15 to 20 minutes, controlling humidity, power use and preventing the fan motor wearing down.
