Arrived today (Jun/12th), after almost losing a finger trying to cut the darn plastic enclosure with my folding knife, only thing I have done is grab the gun and feel the weight of it: great feeling, this is why I start giving it the five stars. Later will update my review.Forgot to mention, as a plus of course, that the package I received included, unanounced, a little plastic bag with ammo, which I presume is 250 count (max load of the clip) and 0.12g, since this is what the included user guide specifies in the clip loading section.Ten days later (Jun/22th):1) Still using the rifle with the first charge I gave to the batteries. I don't use it for playing battles with other people: I use it primarily to shoot and scare away squirrels, which is a daily task, some days might shoot a dozen rounds, and some other days more than fifty. In seconds place, a couple of times I have done some plinking with it. Perhaps also a couple of times I have recharged the magazine.2) The "winding up" necessity of the hi-cap magazine is definitely a pain on the arse. Already ordered a mid-cap (30 or 120 rounds) magazine and can't wait for it to arrive, hopefully tomorrow.3) Have to complain about the sling, because the front end hook got loose twice: first time didn't have any consequences/damages to the rifle, but the second time didn't have the same luck: the left "wing" of the front sight deformed first and finally totally broke apart. After those two early incidents, nothing else has happened, but always check the sling is firm, before grabbing the gun by it.4) Played a little with the "hop up" mechanism, first I elevated it too much and after trying a few shots that went too high, I lowered it a bit, still in the "high" zone, but just a bit and I feel the shooting is pretty accurate, haven't done any "technical" testing of accuracy, using formal targets, etc. Just my feeling when shooting squirrels as far as 15/20 yards and the occasional can/A4 size cardboard plinking at the same distance. I do semi-auto mode, only tried auto a couple of time in short bursts, just to try it.5) The sound of the rifle when shooting is great, even when I miss the shot, the squirrels run away at max speed when they hear it.6) Since yesterday I'm using a mid-cap magazine that doesn't need any "winding up" at all (my fingertips say THANKS!). I bought here in Amazon: Lancer Tactical 120 Round MidCap Steel Metal 6mm M4 / M16 AEG Airsoft Magazine Clip, under 17 bucks, along with a 115 rounds MetalTac loader under 7 bucks. Altogether, still cheaper than a single mid-cap 30 bucks magazine, from Umarexx nonetheless, that I tried previously and didn't work.Still, you can load manually the mid-cap magazine, I did it and helped myself with a Sharpie permanent marker, using the end opposite to the tip, to press down the incoming round into the magazine. By pure coincidence, the Sharpie non writing end and the magazine mouth, look like they were made for each other. The noise from my rifle is so effective scaring the squirrels, that they actually start running when hearing it, which is actually a bit BEFORE (sound speed) than the round reaches the spot where the mobile target (the squirrel) was.Thinking now of buying a spring version, there are some that advertise FPS greater than this rifle's 340, by less than 45 bucks.Jul/5th.Only a week ago I changed batteries, but not because the original ones with the first charge were wasted, but only because I wanted to try the new ones (TATTU 9.6V NiMH Battery 1600mAh Butterfly Nunchuck Stick Rechargeable) I had bought (Amazon) as backup. Been using the new ones for a week now, w/o any issue.I finally measured the 20 yards to place my plinking stuff setup: a Foldable Airsoft Target Tent Trap Slingshot BB Trap Net, and five cans I place inside, standing on the bottom of the tent. With the HK416, at 20 yeards (60 feet), I usually hit the cans 5 times off 5 shots. Finally I got a spring single shot rifle: the Crosman GF529, advertised as 425 fps. Just by firing this one at the same targets I do with the HK, I can say the new one shoots harder and farther. Still in the process of assimilating it, waiting for a optic sight and 0.25gr ammo.Using the BB trap tent brings a question I have seen frequently on the Internet: Can I re-use 6mm ammo? Every time the manufacturing/selling company, either for the gun or the ammo, responds.. the answer is: NO. Well, my own answer is yes, as long as the BB round is not damaged or dirty. At the moment, probably 25% of my magazines are loaded with recovered ammo. I don't keep them separated, as long as I recover them, I pour them back into my two day2day containers (capacity of about 400-600 rounds).Never had a missfire with the HK416, after three weeks of daily use. Same with the GF529 within the first two days. So far, I have done three "harvests" so far from my catching tent: recovered 190, 50 and 100 rounds each. At this pace, soon the tent will pay by itself.July/11thThe catch tent mentioned above keeps giving back, yesterday I recovered 150 rounds.Back to the HK416, the sling is definitely out of the picture. For the third time, the front end ring didn't hold, this time the ring itself dropped to the ground and I couldn't find it. The rifle took a hit so hard that the stock cover for the batteries also dropped to the ground and the batteries went out, hanging just by the connection cable. I put the batteries back in, closed the compartment and, fortunately, the rifle worked just fine again. But true is that this accident could have easily damaged some battery related part, and rendered the rifle useless before reaching a full month of usage.Thinking about if this is enough to remove one star from the five ones.In the ammo subject section, tried some 0.25gr BBs that I bought for my sniper rifle, and definitely they are not good with the HK416: at the usual distances I shoot the 0.20gr ones with almost 100% accuracy: 20 yards, the heavier rounds barely reached the target. Definitely the best option for this gun is 0.20gr, so forget about the cheaper and more ubicous 0.12gr ones, and also forget about anything heavier than 0.20gr ones.Dec/27/24: Recent months, I have slowly migrated towards bolt action sniper rifles and shotgun, preferably with iron sights, accordingly I have been moving away from AEG - battery powered airguns. My favorite airgun now are a CYMA VSR-10, and a Daisy Powerline 880 (in the realm of 4.5mm BBs). Also have a McMillian ASG M40A3, and a long barrel M56 tri-shot shotgun. In this review I mentioned the Crosman GF529, but I had to send back that one before 30 days of using itNow I want to sell my HK-416, along with a Walther P22 pistol, and some other minor items (couple of loaders, etc.).

I have been playing airsoft for about 6 years now. I have moved on to way higher quality guns, but this may be one of the best beginner guns made. I mean it! It was my first gun and I purchased it for $89. I shot thousands upon thousands of rounds out of it with no issues. I played countless game with no issues aswell. I even fell directly on top of it three separate times and not a scratch. It still works to this day! It has outlasted many of my more expensive replicas. IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER TO AIRSOFT LOOK NO FURTHER AND BUY THIS GUN!

4 stars because the dimensions are kinda small, better for a carbine or close quarters combat, the mag is all metal and very sturdy but it’s kind of short, the body is all plastic and the grip is good, it feels very well built and very sturdy for a polymer body, high quality beginner gun or carbine for pros, and the accuracy is what it is,iron sights at 8 yards are unreliable, better to flip down the rear sight and use the front especially when in close range combat, but that’s air soft, I would recommend getting a cheap laser or combat scope for it,Very good fun for backyard battles as well,Best gun for the price out there, very high quality model, umarex does a great job!

This was my first rifle i got. I took it to the field and it performed amazingly. I was up against $200-$400 rifles and it was almost as good. But the fps was not the same as advertised bot almost as good!!

This gun is awesome. First of all, two of my friends own this gun, and I have used it multiple times all of which I was deeply impressed with it's performance. Some say that the plastic is cheap and that the accuracy only goes as far as 25 ft. This is not true. If you sight in the sights and you can aim decently, you can not miss a person from 40 ft away provided those conditions. This gun is however very good for close quarter combat. The full auto is especially ecxeptional. The fps is also really good too (being 340 feet per second). Let facts be submitted to a candid world:Pros: Very accurate, hop up adjustable and accessed by the realistic charging handle, mag is metal, battery is high quality, battery is very accessable, full auto is actually very good considering price, battery life is pretty good especially since you can buy extra batteries that fit + mags too.Cons: Nothing yet... really good gun deffinitley buy!!

First I want to say that it doesn't launch at 400 fps at all as it says in the description, the product is made of bad plastic, it barely reaches 120 fps if you use it in an Airsoft game and you manage to hopefully and very close to causing a game drop, I don't think it would feel the other person I would not recommend it for anyone who wants to start in AirSoft yes I would recommend it to have fun in your backyard throwing paper since it is not capable of passing a regular cardboard in my opinion it is very bad in terms of material and in terms of at fps the battery heats up like fire the shot selector is weak and I have seen other comments but this is mine, be careful I am not saying that it does not work to keep chickens squirrels away from patios etc. that would be its best job since it hits so little that it does not It would not harm the health of the animals at all, judging by the price, it is a legitimate cheap toy for children (always with responsible adult supervision) and that they take care of them since a simple blow would destroy it due to its cheap material.
