I bought this set to do density experiments in my chemistry class. The large size of the cubes made it easy for the kids to use, there was a great variety, and I even found a lab online that meshed perfectly with the kit. I am very pleased with it.

There is a good variety of materials and the type is indicated on the inside cover. If you take them all out at once and mix them up, you may have a hard time figuring out which is which. There are no markings on the cubes which is the only downside to these.

I thought this would be great to use for my students, but there were no labels in them. Once they were taken out it was wasted time in the next class to figure out what was what.I have to purchase another set

This is a very nice set. I am a high school science teacher, and I ordered this set to demonstrate that different objects with the same volume will have different densities so long as their mass is also different. (d=m÷v) The 12 samples included in the set I received are: polypropylene, brass, acrylic, oak, pine, rosewood, steel, aluminum, copper, dense wood (???), nylon, and pvc. Each sample has a volume very close to 25 cubic mm/1 cubic inch/16.3871 mL. I gave this product 4 stars is because the oak and pine samples in my set are a little small. Those two samples measure about 24 cubic mm.

They are exactly like another product; the picture is just different. They are nice, cubic, but not all the same exact size. They work well enough for an intro to density.

These cubes will serve their purpose in my classroom, but they are a serious disappointment for the price. There is a key showing which cubes are what materials, but the cubes themselves aren't labeled, so if they are not placed in the correct location, the key is useless. The metals are sloppily cut, with most not even being close to square. Additionally, it is very difficult to remove the metal cubes from their container since they are almost exactly the height of the case. The only real way to get them out is to dump them, which basically ensures that the cubes are never put back into their proper location. Overally, these were very disappointing.

This product was utilized for "Floating and Sinking" lessons as well as "Density Instruction".......the cubes are a good quality manipulate and will endure .......
