Poor design with little reinforcement at the valve and insufficient packaging lead to this showing up broken in the box. Neither the inner or outer box showed any damage.

Cap leaks but other than that, when price and the impossibility of dropping and shattering it are considered, it works perfectly.

The cap is leaks. Should have tested it with water first. Got nasty chemicals all over when I attempted to mix the sep funnel. Absolute waste of money unless you never need to mix in your sep funnel, highly illogical.

Not the best one I have ever used, it leaks out of the lid even when it's right. Just recently the shaft broke on the valve.

I bought this funnel for the purpose of separating yeast for homebrewing. For people experienced with separatory funnels, my review will probably not tell you much.The construction itself is thin polypropylene, but given its shape, it's very strong. The funnel itself has 3 pieces (4 if you count the red handle in the spigot as another piece - it can come out). The spigot secures into the funnel with friction, and has 3 o rings to hold it in place. It won't leak - the seal is nice and tight, even when the funnel is full.The opening is not wide enough for removing beer trub and yeast - it's simply too narrow. Glass may work better at this size since it might have less friction, but no matter - you can easily drill open the hole in the spigot to be wider. The opening could probably be drilled at large as 3/16", but I expanded mine to 1/8" and am getting the performance I need for my uses.It tears apart for cleaning easily. If the o rings wear out, I'm confident I could find replacements easily. The red handle in the spigot is slipped in and held by friction, and on mine pushes out easily. When it bothers me enough I'll glue it in place - it doesn't need to be removed during cleaning to keep the funnel sanitary.This funnel is priced well and I'm happy with the performance. Plastic isn't as sexy as glass, but I appreciate the reduced price and the ease of storing it.
