The ID is 12mm, (0.47in). When I asked to exchange it I was told by the manufacturer it was too expensive to send back and ask if I would accept a discount to keep it. I agreed because I had the tooling and set up to ream a blind hole and make it 0.5in. But beware I don't believe the manufacturer has 0.5in ID universal joints. And no I didn't want to turn the end of the shaft down.

I needed this for the snow shoot handle mechanism. I couldn’t find anything that worked locally. It took awhile to get here. It actually arrived the day after our big snowstorm. But I put it on, made a few adjustments on the handle rod and it worked great after the next storm. I was blowing snow for two hours and it worked great. This would have cost me about $200.00 if I would have taken it to a shop.

The inside diameter is 12mm not 1/2". This product is mislabeled. (12mm = 0.472441 inches , close but will not easily connect two 1/2" metal shafts.)

This doesn't fit on a 1/2 inch shaft. It appears to be a metric size. I guess that because it came with no set screws and only metric set screws would fit. I'm disappointed that I wasted valuable time waiting for the wrong thing.

The ID is not .5†and the set screws it comes with aren’t even the right size. They fall right through the threaded hole. The overall fit and finish is poor. It was hand assembled complete with complimentary Hammet marks. This is a $5 part sold for almost $18 at time of purchase. Stay away. Its garbage

They slip on shaft because the grub screws supplied don't hold on shaft!!

À l'air très fragile et les set screw ne sont même pas de la bonne grosseur..

It is advertised as 1/2" but a 1/2" rod will not fit. The actual diameter that does fit is 15/32". Disappointing but the metal is soft enough for me to drill it out to 1/2". Apart from that issue this item is well made.
