Product Description

extension

This product will extend your door handle shaft by 5/8" (tolerence is 0 to + 1/16") depending on the length of your existing shaft. If you need another 1/8" to 1/4" don't bottom out the extension on the original shaft when installing the extension and or if you need a little less extension, you can grind down the existing shaft to about where the groove for the c-clip would go ... just be sure the set screw will properly engage the original shaft then install the extension.

Installation Instructions:

Remove stock door handle(s) and remove the armrest and door panel as required .

Install crank shaft extension over existing shaft and tighten set screw(s) with a 1/8" hex head, allen wrench to 72-75 inch pounds.

We recommend using Blue Lock-Tite on the set screw to prevent it from backing out.

As a note the set screw is made of steel with at cone point for the best possible holding capacity.

With proper torque the pointed end of the set screw(s) will bite to the steel shaft and ensure it won't loosen up over time

Next, re-install the door panel and push door handle on to the shaft extension.

Check to ensure the clip is engaged into the groove on the shaft extension.

I needed something to bring my door handle out around the power window add on the previous owner installed. This does the job just wish the alan screw was pointed on the inside to bite into the teeth I stead of flat. Just have to tighten now and then.

Useful doodad... buuuut....In order to get this to work properly, you need to drill a hole in the original spline for the worm screw to bury into, otherwise it just works free.It also needs opposing worm screws, I am going to mod mine to have an opposing screw, the single wormscrew makes it sit off kilter.I suspect you can make something better.

The inside of the window crank should be grooved to fit the window crank design verses using a weak set screw. I had to countersink the shaft for the set screw to get it to work right.

The idea of this is great but the quality is very poor and it's built very poorly, could would well if you drilled your own tap in screw.

Product fits older window crank handle, sloppy and loose fitting even after tightening. Does the job but will seek alternative solution.

The minute I install this on my truck I turned the handle and it busted loose I had to tac weld it and grind it flat to get it to work.
