The first thing I noticed about this dog wheelchair is how lightweight it is. The box almost feels like it is filled with air. Once opened, I saw a heavy frame constructed aluminum tube. I needed to straighten the horizontal U-shaped frame. The frame was bent together so I had to pull it apart slightly. I was surprised at how strong the frame was as I pulled it apart. I then put the wheelchair together. Assembly was relatively easy. Instructions are minimum so I had to do a little trial and error. Once assembled, I compared the size to our dogs. The minimum size this chair will fit is about 8 pounds. We have a 3, 5 and 8 pound Dachshund. This looks to be a perfect fit at the smallest setting to fit our 8 pound puppy. Fortunately, I ordered this for a Dachshund that weighs in the 8-10 pound range. We are working with our dog to train her to this wheelchair. She has been down a while so she will need to strengthen her front legs and learn how to use her "new legs". I will try to revisit this review or write a new review with 'Pippi' hopefully, enjoying her new legs.
