  • Durable Construction: Crafted with an ABS shell, the 1:64 Balun Antenna offers durability and excellent craftsmanship, ensuring longevity and reliability in various conditions
  • Wide Frequency Range: With support for multiple bands (80m, 60m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 16m, 12m, 10m, and 6m) and power levels (ssb<100W, CW, FM, AM, FT4, FT8<60W), the half wave antenna provides exceptional performance across different frequencies, providing unparalleled flexibility for a wide range of radio applications
  • Optimized Frequency and Power: The optimized 1:64 matching ratio minimizes signal loss and maximizes reception efficiency, guaranteeing superior signal quality, reliability, and stability. This feature is especially beneficial for long-range transmission and weak signal environments

Product Description

1 64 Balun Antenna

Antenna Introduction:

This antenna is a multi-band and multi-directional shortwave antenna, consisting of a 1:64 impedance converter and 20 or 40.7 meter (adjusted by an antenna analyzer to adjust the length of the oscillator). It is easy to install and not easily detectable due to its single-ended feeding. It is suitable for urban and outdoor installations.

Regarding the issue of ground grid:

End-fed antennas generally do not require a ground network for SSBs. However, for data connections like FT8 and FT4 that may cause interference, an external ground network can be used. A 1-2 meter single-stranded wire connected to the converter connector can be used as a natural sagging ground wire. Installing a grounding grid will cause resonant point displacement, which can be corrected by adjusting the oscillator length with an antenna analyzer. Shortening the length of the grounding grid can reduce this problem and achieve optimal performance

This works very well as advertised. Tunes all bands (harmonics of the fundamental). I use 40 meters (66 foot driven sloper) and this tunes all harmonics better than 1.2 SWR. Amazing gadget and can be installed in minutes. This is a fine antenna maker. I have worked South Africa and Eastern Russia from Virginia. Case is well made and certainly waterproof enough to leave it in my backyard for years!

Solid construction. Provides good frequency response. Used with a wire dipole at 10m was able to tune to an SWR of 1.07.

This balun feels like it is really well built. I ordered a 64:1. The generic instructions say it is either a 49:1 or 64:1. Hmmm.I'll measure with a meter and report back if it is off. For now 5 stars for a solid product.

This unit replaced my HOA buster. At less than $30 it is a much better deal than the $250 HOA Buster. It has a higher wattage rating and works perfectly with my Icom 7300 and gutter/random wire as my antenna. 100 watt transmission on digital modes works just fine. The HOA buster limits you to 25 watts. Overall this appears to be a superior product. It doesn’t include a ground rod so you are going to have to take care of that on your own. It would be nice if it came with a mount that would attach to a ground rod. It definitely floats my boat for HF digital and analog use.

Got this to build a 4-band (40, 20, 15, 10) EFHW antenna. Seems like it works. I wish the attachment point for the antenna wire was a bit more substantial; we'll have to see how it holds up under strain. Casing of the transformer seems sturdy enough. Tested it out with a 10 meter only EFHW, got the SWR down below 1.2, and I could pick up numerous signals. Nobody has heard me yet but that's probably more a function of the band than the antenna.

Nicely sealed plastic housing with integral "ears" to pass your wire thru and secure. Matched to a tuner and achieved JS8 QRP contact from NY to EU on 40m with just 4w. Housing is very durable and looks like it can stand up to continuous use, not just portable.

Works very well. Used silicon wire cut to about 66'. Good SWR, on 20m 1.4, 15m 1.1, 10M 1.3, and on 40M 2.5 but I can clean it up with my tuner. Overall, its working well.

Ended up with 63.5 ft of 20 awg wire. Tunes 40-17 without a tuner, 15 and 10 not far off but will need a tuner. Have not put it on the air yet and probably will not use it with more that 50W. Looking forward to trying it as a sloper for portable ops.(Added 6 months later) I bought a second transformer and the one that arrived is a bit bigger and the wire connects at a different location. This one is for my home QTH and looks good on the analyzer. Just sent a heartbeat on 40 with 3 watts and got 6 reports. 65 ft of 14 awg THHN. Should probably be 6 inches longer.GL W6GJB
