During this stay at home time of this pandemic I thought it would be a good time to try different cooking techniques and recipes. I bought a bamboo steamer for a friend as a gift from this seller, but it would have been too big for me. This is the perfect size for one or two or a small family. I caution a buyer to pay attention to the directions that come with the steamer. It is very important to dip it a few times in boiling water to remove any smell of the bamboo and non toxic glue. After a couple of dips it is evident the smell is a lot less. The caution is important for those first few meals one prepares. Also, if one wants this product to last, it needs to be cleaned between uses and allowed to dry. I coat mine with some olive oil, lightly to protect the bamboo. It is a natural product, not metal or stainless steel and needs to be treated naturally. I used this as a single tray to cook vegetables and rice and as a double layered tray to cook salmon and fish and a side dish of vegetables. I tried for the first time, steaming artichokes, and they came out just lovely. I use the liners that came with the steamer to avoid food stains or stickies. It is a fun thing to put spices or herbs or other flavoring in the water of the container one uses to do the steaming, lemon, rosemary, and other spices and flavors can be used. I cover the whole thing after I put the steamer cover on to keep most of the steam from escaping but don't seal the top cover. I also use a trivet on the bottom many times to keep the steamer out of the water, as can be seen in the photo. Different recipes call for different techniques using the bamboo steamer. Don't let your holding container run out of water before you shut the heat off or you may ruin your steamer. If used the way the instructions guide I think this steamer will last me a long time. I plan on trying wontons soon, and may update my review after I do. I am having a lot of fun trying new things with this steamer.

This product is fantastic! I loved it so much, I bought another set to cook more at once. I went with the 8 inch as it fits my lot better. Easy to use and the paper liners leave no mess making this an easy clean. Quickly steam whatever you want in these. My favorite is steaming dumplings and buns which make a fantastic weeknight, practically hands off meal. Highly recommend.

Works really well! I placed 2 tiers of 12 inch bamboo steamers on the steamer ring adapter. Then placed all 3 on top my Staub casserole pot. Doesnรขโฌโขt sit very level on the Le creuset pots because of the pot handles position. But thatรขโฌโขs ok coz I can used it with many other pots.
