Redoing seats in Lexus 92 sc400. Works great in forming and securing to seat. Found bolt cutters works best in cutting the wire.

Our sofa's original wire had snapped some time ago and I finally decided to repair it This stabilizing wire gave new life to our sinking sofa. The wire was even thicker than the original that was installed on our sofa. Since the wire was so thick I was unable to use wire cutters and had to use a dremel to cut. It takes some time and elbow grease to clip onto the coils but once I was done it felt great to relax on my newly fixed couch! Be careful when undoing the zipties for the first time because it's will want to snap back into a straight shape.

Be careful when cutting the ties off so it doesn't unwind and slap you. when cutting i had a challenge untill i figured it out. i used 4 different types of cutting hand tools. i remember some one had stated it would best be cut with bolt cutters, whic I didn't have. i finally got a hand saw with tinny teeth, well it made a bit of a cut line as i bent it to look at the line the cable snapped apart at the cut line. So next one I sawed it a bit then Bent it , snap. was easier. Price worth it.

So, I have an old couch that was really starting to sag. With couch prices the way they are right now I really didn't want to spend a couple thousand dollars. That said I decided to take a try at a DIY fix. I flipped the couch over and took a box cutter to cut the thin fabric off the bottom so I could see what was going on. There is a wire that runs between the springs and holds them together. In two sections the wire was broken. I did a little googling and found I could get this wire pretty inexpensively. It was actually really easy to install. I attached a photo, so you could see where I put the cable next to the broken one. I actually decided to add two more wires for extra support. The couch is noticeably more comfortable. If you look on YouTube you'll see a video that tells you you can squeeze the springs back in shape a little bit. I did that as well. Overall this little investment made a huge difference with the couch. I'm very pleased with the purchase

With some additional foam, used the Upholstery Stay Wire to establish a better foundation for our sofa seating. Seems to have worked very well; seat is firmer and more comfortable than it has been in years.First, I slipped some new upholstery foam above the springs. Then, using pliers, I tightened the existing springs by squeezing the bends a bit closer together. Lastly, I installed the Upholstery Stay Wire between the springs. When done together, I believe the life expectance of our sofa has been extended a number of years. Took away that sinking feeling when you sat down.

Worked just as expected. I definitely recommend having a pair of bolt cutters to cut this wire otherwise you’ll have to do what I did temporarily and roll it up under the couch lol otherwise I fixed my saggy couch no problem.

Very strong wire to cut, and unwieldy when opened up, but that's what you ordered it for. Excellent.

This did a great job of replacing the broken support wires on our sofa. Not an easy job to do, but it’s quite effective in stopping the seats from sinking.
