I got the upholstery tacks to keep my bed skirt in place, especially when changing the sheets on the bed, to keep the bed skirt from being tucked in along with the sheets. They do a good job, for the most part, and are easy to screw into the box spring. My only concern is that you have to work with them gently, because the wire “corkscrews,†that twist into the fabric, bend easily. The wire is not thick or strong, and I’m wondering how long they will stay attached to the black button. Otherwise, they are doing the job I got them to do, and I am pleased with them.

I have a car with black interior, but I also have a light colored dog, so I needed to protect the carpet. Anyway, I wanted to attach some windbreaker-type fabric to the rear floor under the mats using these upholstery tacks. At first, they were a little difficult to screw into the carpet, but I figured out I needed to start at a slight angle instead of head-on and that worked fine. They are still holding the fabric after my dog and many people were in the back seat. I ordered the black ones to match the fabric and of course, it's a good match, undetectable because they can be screwed in flush with the surface. I only needed 6 tacks so if I need to replace any, I have spare ones. They're big enough to handle my need, yet small enough to be unseen. The tacks do bend rather easily, I rendered 2 unusable trying to figure out the best way to screw then in, but that was a skill issue and not the fault of the product. I'm just glad I found them because they're exactly what I needed.

I actually got these to use for something other then their intended purpose. I have a 95lbs doberman pincher male dog, he likes to lay on the couches. So i have a blankets over the couches and got sick of fixing them every single day as they would work their way off with him getting on and off the couch. These upholstery tacks worked great and so far I have not had to fix the blanket a single time.My only real con is that I had a couple where the sharp end that is ment to be screwed thru your box spring fabric was blunt. As if the wrong sharp end had been put into the button. The two i found were unusable as they would not go thru the upholstery.Other then that though, there work great, they are strong and I have zero doubt that these pins would have any sort of problem holding up/in place a bedskirt. No way a bedskirt had as much force put on it hanging there as my dobermans puts on that blanket trying to make himself comfy.

The fake leather on our RV sofa has been quickly deteriorating and peeling off everywhere. So we added slip covers to it, to cover it up, and to make it more comfortable. But the slipcovers kept creeping off and we needed something to secure them in place. Initially we used pins to hold along a seam, but then I saw these and thought I'd give them a try. I secured the slipcovers in several spots, and these twist pins have held it on well. They're actually a bit pricey for what they are, but they do work well.

I think we all know the only way to actually keep a slipcover in place is to staple that sucker to the sofa. But then that kind of defeats the point of the ability to take it off and wash it. The alternative to aggressive stapling tactics is upholstery tacks, and these work just as well as any others I've used in the past. The screws don't bend when you're trying to get them in weird places deep in the sofa.

These are cheaper screws that aren’t good for heavy duty use or fabrics. They need a relatively soft surface to go through and be able to use them.
