This seems as well made or better then the original part. Seats nicely into the spring. I held it in place with a few locking pliers while backing off the spring compressors and it seated perfectly.

I just installed this yesterday, so I can't speak to the longevity yet, but I can say it solved my problem. Our car was making a lot of rattling noises every time we went over any bump. Looking at the top of the strut under the hood showed it the shock was loose. i wasn't sure if this part was the culprit, or the mount, as I wasn't sure how it worked. This part was the problem, and i was able to fix it for under $20 buck. One tip: check for a auto parts store that rents/loans tools for a strut compressor BEFORE starting the job. My local stores all needed days to get it in, so I had to boot-leg it and do the job with c-clamps and Vice Grip clamps.

I've borrowed the spring compressor so many times from Autozone, it should have my name on it. So, that means I was able to complete the change out of my old worn strut mounts very quickly. These parts slipped right in and the annoying thumping noise was gone instantly.
