Temperature limitation
The highest operating temperature that 304 stainless steel can withstand is 1,000°F / 537°C.

These are extremely nice USA Machined Fitting and not the China Ultra-thin-walled casted crap.It's very hard to find this level of quality in machined fittings now days.These are old-school fittings and ones you can count on working when everything else has failed...

Despite the name, advertising, and really nice labeling on the fitting, the package states that they are made in China. That kind of bummed me out because I thought I was spending the extra money to support on-shore manufacturing.But, the fitting is really well made. I am using a 1/2x2" nipple to attach a valve directly to a hydraulic ram cylinder.This is a perfect choice because it has thick walls, hex wrench landings, and well cut threads.However, the thick walls make for flow restrictions in low pressure water applications, so you might consider a thinner walled fitting for those.
