How to Access External Storage Cards on iPhone/iPad Using the Files App
The built-in iOS Files app lets you manage external storage cards (SD cards, USB drives) on your iPhone 15 or iPad with ease. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Insert your storage card into the adapter.
Step 2: Access Files Manually.
Unlike computers, iOS won't show automatic prompts. Open the Files app directly.
Under Locations in the sidebar, tap your storage device (usually labeled "NONAME" or "Untitled").
Step 3: Manage Files Flexibly
View & Organize: Browse folders like on a computer
Edit Content: Rename files, create folders, or delete items

I got this so I could take it on a trip and download my pictures to a microdisk.. I went overseas and want going to always have signal so I wanted to be able to save my pictures to a microdisk as my phone storage was low. I never could get it to work although my phone is otg compatible. Probably just me but better instructions would have been nice. I had to do an online search to even get close but I just couldn't get it to transfer my pictures. However, it does work with my laptop (not taken on trip) which is nice because my laptop doesn't have a microdisk reader and this little device does the trick and is easy to pack in my laptop bag.

This thing is junk. Worked one time and after that it would not read any card that was inserted. Place the same card into another reader and no problems.

at first i thought i got a dud when it wasn’t working on my phone. but when i saw the reviews i whipped my laptop out to use it. i’m not very good with technology but i was able to save my photos with no problem! perfect if you don’t have an SD card reader on your laptop
