I tested this against my other HDMI adapter with interesting results. What I like about this adapter is that it handles the 4K better, and the driver supports adjusting the underscan so I can get the full Mac display on the screen (normally the edges extend outside the monitor). My other adapter allows adjustment in 1K, but not in 4K. The downside is sleep though; my other adapter comes back when the computer wakes up and this one does not. It requires physically disconnecting and reconnecting. The picture wins over the disconnect though, because during presentations I never put the Mac to sleep!

UPDATE: After a week, this has now completely crapped out and will not work longer than a minute without going into strobe light mode. I expected this to happen eventually but not in the first week. DO NOT BUY THIS! It's terrible! Lowered the score all the way down.It works except for when it shorts out. Which it does quite often. It's not a problem for now, but it's annoying when I have to stop work for a few seconds every 4-5 minutes when my screen blacks out for no discernable reason. The real problem comes when I'm giving a presentation and my students can see that I have to pause sporadically. But, it's what I expected for the price. Hopefully, I can find a better replacement soon and just keep this one as a backup.

This is nice looking plug but doesn't seem to be giving a consistently nice looking performance with my monitor. I just got a new mac mini and wasn't sure what exactly was causing the instability. I plugged and unplugged a lot of things before I finally figured out it was this little guy. Maybe I got a lemon but it's not giving me a stable connection and it's definitely not my new mac or my old monitor. Another plug solved the problem.
